Hi,

How does one reduce the time Numbers Dialed are Sent to the PBX?

I know outbound calls are sent by hitting the SEND key. However, if I pickup the phones Handset (or hit the Speaker phone button), I hear dial tone, then Dial a Number (WITHOUT hitting the SEND key), there is about a 5 second delay before the call is sent to the PBX.

Is there a way to reduce this 5 second time delay?

FYI, I am using a Yealink T38g phone. Thank you.

You can try to use a "reversed" procedure.
1. enter the number you need to call
2. pickup your Handset..
or
1. enter the number you need to call
2. hit the Speaker phone button

Works?

go into the phone's web interface and look for a setting called dial delay, inter-digit delay or the like and reduce it to a time more suitable. this will eliminate a manual intervention, but will likely result in dialing too soon in some cases.
