We've been working on this for a while now and I am curious how some of you are handling things......

Another phone system I work with allows you to set up a call to an extension or ring group whenever 911 is dialed. This, however, isn't allowed in 3CX. We only get the option to use an email address and this simply won't work, especially since that email address (or distribution group) will get hundreds of emails related to other alerts and may desensitize those recipients rendering the important "911 has been dialed" alert email useless.

In saying this, when you have multiple sites stretched across several states and some sites don't have a manned "front desk" per se, how are some of you handling this without VoIP Tools?
(Please note, this isn't a dig at using VoIP Tools.)

Thanks and have a great weekend!

3CX fully satisfies Kari's law today. The fact that you are sending the emails to a busy mailbox is not a factor as far as Kari's law (or 3CX) is concerned. And you don't have a front desk or security office, don't send any notifications. It's not required TO send notifications, it only has to have the ability to send a notification.

If the busy mailbox is really a concern, you need to send the emails to someone else, or use any number of mail manipulation tools to achieve your desired goal. Could be something as simple as a rule in Outlook to flag the message as important to using the email to trigger something like Zapier which can then kick off whatever workflow/event/action you desire.

The above post from @Frederick Marcoux does state from 3CX that more additions should be coming in future releases.

What I can say from my point of view and experience is that the main question we get from clients is in regards to location information sending when using the 3CX App's on smartphones, which for the most part is an issue as if out and about the location indication sent will most likely not be accurate.

I normally inform clients that they are best to use their mobile GSM network in such circumstances.
