I was prompted to provide an update on the admin console which I did, there was no confirmation or anything I was just logged out and sent an email to say a back up has been made. Upon trying to log back in, it is now saying server error, I have tried rebooting and stopping / starting the system with no luck. It says running on my portal with the green light but still nothing, I can’t Log into the web client either as it just says disconnected re-attempt with a count down.

Can anyone help please?

Where is your partner? What kind of portal? What kind of 3CX (SMB or hosted by 3CX, hosted elsewhere; probably not on-premise) and what version was it before (v20; v18 if hosted not by 3CX)?

No partner, 3CX hosted, v18 before but on the portal it still says v18

Give it some time to apply the update and reboot the system, You're portal should update to V20, then try logging into the admin console.

Will it still continue the update if it has been shut down and booted back up from the portal? Baring in mind that it states when shutting down that upon starting it back up it will restore from the most recent back up.

The 3CX Upgrade will do all of this for you, you shouldn't need to do anything. Give it 15-30 Minutes then check if the version displaying in your portal is V20. If it does you should then be able to login.

I see, thing is I manually stopped the service in the portal and restarted it so I’m wondering if that stopped the update, there was no confirmation or status update when I clicked update and so I assumed it failed, when logging back in to the admin console it said server error so I tried rebooting to no avail and then stopping and starting the service back again as it’s supposed to revert it back to the previous back up.

Currently it still says server error so not sure if it’s still updating or issue with the 3CX hosting server

@Optionzit As per out ticket the issue was that the PBX was rebooted while it was in the process upgrading to V20.
As a result the installation was broken and the system was not available.
After restoring the latest backup on the latest V20 in 3CX Hosted the issue is now resolved.

hello, i did the same mistake, luched the update and wasnt able to login so i did reboot+stop.
do i just have to wait? hot to solve the same???
please help. thanks

The solution is provided in the latest reply.
Since you rebooted the machine while it was still in upgrade process this cannot be reverted.
You will need to start a new V20 installation and restore your backup.
