Hi all,

I'm trying to set up a backup computer with 3CX as a way to minimize downtime in case the unforeseen happens to my main PBX, I can quickly swap it out and be up and running.

So I took a backup of my current system, copied it over to the new machine, restored it, and connected it in the place of the old one.

Everything works fine, internal and external calls working as expected.

But I'm unable to provision changes to the phones we have, and I can't provision a phone I've factory reset.

We're using Cisco SPA508G

As you can see, with a phone highlighted no options are available

I followed this guide: https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/cisco-spa501g/

I tried factory resetting a phone to reprovision it, but it would not succeed

It gets stuck on Step 3

When I went back to the original PBX, I was able to provision using the same procedure instantly

What am I missing here?

Thank you

are you using dhcp option 66

phones that are manually setup show as UNPROVISIONED on my install but still work.

option 66 in general makes things a lot easier, you just add the phones mac address to 3cx, fac reset the phone and thats it.

There should be a way to provision phones without option 66.
Some installations don't have a DHCP server.
Any other ideas?

The Cisco phones are under Legacy (Limited Feature Set) Support. DHCP Option 66 is the recommended and only supported method to provision these phones.
