Hi all,

I have a customer with a Fanvil i31S intercom which works perfectly and the users with Fanvil X6U handsets see the video from the intercom camera when they answer a call from it.

The problem is that the site would like a different ringtone for calls from the intercom. No problem, I thought, I can just feed calls to the handsets through a dedicated intercom queue and specify a queue-specific ringtone for that queue's agents. Doing this does change the ringtone, but the problem is that the X6U handsets no longer play the video from the intercom when they answer a call from the intercom queue.

So, is there a way I can either:
  1. Make calls which were answered from a queue display video on the X6U handsets, or
  2. Specify a different ringtone for calls without having to use queues?
I'm stumped on this and would appreciate any help.

Cheers,
Nicholas.

Well, perhaps you can create additional accounts on the phones that receive these calls?
For example, the primary account on a phone is extension 100.
You create an additional account with extension 500 and have the intercom call that number. In the phone, you specify a different ringtone for that account.

When setting up the phones through 3CX, I would use autoprovisioning for extension 100 and make everything is working. Then, log in to the phone and remove to auto-provisioning url from its settings. Then add the second line and set things up according to your wishes.

I realize this is not really very nice and all, but I guess it would/could/should work..?
