When I click on Recordings from the 3cx Dashboard in 16 - it tells a good story...

"Feature available only in 3CX PBX Professional and 3CX PBX Enterprise Edition"

That option is not even available on the standard dashboard to click for that message.

I did not install from scratch. I updated my v15 test platform. Not sure where you started to v16 game.

You are correct. I know this is alpha still in the works, and that the new feature list is not out. However, it is worrisome, for myself and others, that are supporting multiple clients. We need to have a little idea what is coming in the final release. Without this, we are just stumbling around and finding things in the alpha release.

Without the recordings feature, I would never upgrade to V16 for clients unless we get a free upgrade to PRO to handle features that we now have access to, paid for and pay maintenance for.

But, I will wait until the final is out or some accouncement is made before making any decisions.

Current customers will NOT loose any features as per my previous post. But for new customers - things will change a little but nothing drastic.

Hi Timm.
Thanks for your post.
The reported behavior is not a bug. The language of the error messages needs to be selected in the extension's level.
To hear the error messages in German you need to set the German as an extension language (edit the extension and set German as a Voicemail Language).

Hi Aram,

normally in this case no Mailbox will be use. But for testing it, i activate the Mailbox and it was set German Prompts before. But i hear English Prompt.

Bye
Timm

Thanks Nick for clarifying this.

I am reluctant to even renew maintenance on any standard's I have until I have more information. I would hate to spend money and then lose a feature that client use.

Confused by this statement. If their maintenance is going to expire before v16 is released I would imagine you would keep their maintenance current anyways no? And if it expires after v16 is released then you'll will know exactly what changes will be made in v16 so you can evaluate then. And even if they did remove the feature I'd be really curious what PBX product you would use instead of 3CX that would be cheaper than the version upgrade.

We think it would be a good idea to select the language and customize the initial message and logo in the new CLICK2TALK functionality

OK the voiceapps as we had them before have been removed. But do not worry.
We have a solution that will make the design of voicescripts much easier giving admins full flexibility of the callflow.

3 new IVR types have been introduced in Version 16.
DTMF input, Launch Script and play file (The latter is something that many users will find helpful because they can clean up the IVR list to have fewer to maintain/troubleshoot)
Documentation will be released shortly especially on the launch script ivr.

The amount of flexibility and things you can do if you create IVR's that launch python scripts for example or Powershell ones, is really cool.
You can craft a script that can do anything - return specific error codes, enter DTMF or ID's, check them by querying a rest api crm or a database, Play prompts, without having to go through the CFD learning curve.

We will be releasing some some sample scripts soon.

We have many PBXs with CFD, in many cases to be able to select temporary conditions for each DDI.

When eliminating CFD, you will have examples of how to make a script to reproduce these same scenarios? Otherwise it will take a while to update to v16

The queue manager from client is not present on new version client. It's a bug or it's supposed to be this way?
Please keep Que Manager and Manager in 3CXPhone Client

I agree!

nb - Here is why that is a problem: I have a client with 250 extensions. The company has 9 operators and they have managed the switchboard via the Windows application. Have you seen what 250 extensions looks like on the Web Client??? I am not sure my new 43" monitor would be enough screen real estate to accommodate that many extensions.

Hi technigogo - we understand and we are working on additional views.... Its very easy to create additional views to accommodate this - all we need is a bit of time.

@Nick Galea not seeing BRIDGES setting in Perpetial Standard Lic. Will these license be upgraded with bridge settings?

How about having different MoH for groups of extensions (or per extension)?

One deployment scenario for me is multi-unit buildings and often, most of the tenants only have 1-2 phones. It's nice to put the building on one system but it's not ideal to have a single MoH for the whole system.

Also, the cost of IPv4 addresses is becoming an issue so multiple PBXs at the site simply isnt an option.

The Windows client will not have the switchboard anymore.
Instead all switchboard logic will move to the webclient.
It will be web based, one less app to handle and have all your communications through the browser.
The Webclient will have Queue views which will give an overview of All queues in the system or those you are currently managing.
This feature will be provided over the next 2 updates.

Please please please DON'T remove any features from the windows client, this did not go down well last year when you did this with removing the conferencing from the windows client and it wont go well if you did it again by now removing the switchboard from it.
A lot of us have clients using this feature who are not using the Web-client so removing it is going to cause us a lot of grief with our customers.

Please re-consider this move and leave all the features in the windows client before all the complaints come rolling in after the upgrade starts rolling out.

Thanks.

That is a huge relief and my customer who inadvertently upgraded to v16 will be very glad to hear this.

That is sad... perhaps 3cx needs to allow us to secure the upgrade button to a Global Admin or something. And a pop-up - "this is Alpha - are you f**king crazy?" question.

Is there any chance of being able to configure the web client to use SSO / AD credentials? Would save users a few extra steps and also having to remember another username / password!

This has been a major concern of ours. We have many clients that we have changed their admin passwords and then have to assist them in anything that requires admin access (ring groups, digital receptionists, adding agents to queues, etc) in an effort to avoid errors like this.

I feel it is very important that 3CX add more granular permissions so that managers can have access to appropriate call flow type items without being able to accidentally upgrade to an ALPHA build, disable auto backups, or make changes to network settings.

If you haven't already, please vote for this in the Ideas forum.
