Update: V15.5 is no longer available. Download the latest version here. We’ve been hard at work readying a major new update - which bundles some great new features - and built on top of our multi platform and proven core v15 architecture. Hence we’ve named it 15.5.

3CX Web Client

The key feature of v15.5 is the brand new 3C...

Hi,
I've spun up a new hosted PBX on 3cx.co.uk which is running 15.5, created a new user and logged in to the /webclient.

How do I test the new web client without installing any software? The webclient says no phone is connected.

Good question - you have to resend the welcome email and you will be sent URL and credentials. You can resend to all using the new Select All button

We are now waiting 3CX 15 SP6 for WebRTC call, Hotel Module and VAD, so I have some questions:
1 - Is this the new SP6?
2 - If not, wen SP6 will be availabel?
3 - Will the new 15.5 have VAD and WebRTC when it lands?

15.5. is SP6 in a way yes. Hotel module is in 15.5. Click2Call and VAD will follow later. We can not give exact dates, but VAD will be out reasonably soon in beta.

Sorry, I'm confused. I thought one of the new features was a web based phone which didn't need any software installed? Or is that not the case?

No, its a web based client, not a web based phone. You need either an IP phone /softphone or smartphone to make calls.

Ah! I see. That's a shame. Is a web based phone in the works?

We have a major problem with audio device selection (headsets) and roaming users that is the 1 thing holding us back from deploying 3CX. I

So you can use Sennheiser headsets with 3CX Phone for Windows - works perfect.

But when you already have 100x Plantronics C310's you don't really want to go replacing them. The headset works fine, but the user has to switch the input/output audio each time they use the client on a PC as the xml file roams and means the audio device guid changes between each PC.

Thats something you need to solve with Plantronics and the way your network user profiles are configured. You have to ensure Plantronics is the default audio device

Can we install over the top of an existing setup or is it a fresh install?

This particular one forces a new install. But the beta (this is an alpha) will be available from updates.

Nick:

A couple of questions:

Does the faxing support the same number of pages (70) as before with G711?

Has 3CX figured out a way for us to test this using our keys but without installing this on production? Downloading a trial that doesn't include queues or wallboards doesn't help in testing out the functionality of the real thing without actually trying them out.

Will the wallboard show multiple queues individually or show all of the queue stats combined like before

Does the webclient have the same security as the 3cx client (can disable recordings, etc.)

Hi,

With 3CX 15.5 the Webclient CTI function (Yealink) is working great! (Also when the phone and desktop are not in the same netwerk (remote desktop cloud workspace).

But the desktop app CTI is still trying to connect trough the lan ip of the ip phone. It would be great when the desktop app uses the same method as the webclient. (so relay the cti request trough the pbx)

Can you confirm you will be able to initiate a call recording in CTI mode for FANVIL phones, once they update their firmware? Will you be able to play back phone recordings via the web client?

Happy to see hotel module coming in v15.5! Few things seem to be missing at the moment though comparing to hotel module v14, most probably due to alpha state of v15.5. Could you pls. clarify whether those are coming at later stage?
1. Made status codes
2. Mini bar codes
3. web interface for hotel staff to book wake-up calls
4. option to send e-mail notification on failed wake-up call (so far only forwarding of failed wake-up is available)
5. room check-in / check-out via web interface similar to v14 (in case PMS integration is not used)
5. billing for room calls in case PMS integration is not used (equivalent of hotel module web interface in v14 - calls are listed upon room check-out)

If these features are coming later, would you be able to provide estimated arrival date?

Yes, this should be the case after the Fanvil firmware is provided and passes interop...

Hi Tracy

There is no technical limitation applied to inbound faxing via G711. That said its definitely not the preferred way to deliver a 70 pages document. reliability will depend on the senders fax machine and your provider.

I am afraid we don't provide additional license keys for testing purposes. If you are a reseller though you have access to your NFR keys for testing and demo purposes.

In the wallboard you can filter out which queues you want to display.

Re security - yes it will match the client (maybe not all right now)
