Update: V15.5 is no longer available. Download the latest version here. We’ve been hard at work readying a major new update - which bundles some great new features - and built on top of our multi platform and proven core v15 architecture. Hence we’ve named it 15.5.

3CX Web Client

The key feature of v15.5 is the brand new 3C...

Happy to see hotel module coming in v15.5! Few things seem to be missing at the moment though comparing to hotel module v14, most probably due to alpha state of v15.5. Could you pls. clarify whether those are coming at later stage?
1. Made status codes
2. Mini bar codes
3. web interface for hotel staff to book wake-up calls
4. option to send e-mail notification on failed wake-up call (so far only forwarding of failed wake-up is available)
5. room check-in / check-out via web interface similar to v14 (in case PMS integration is not used)
5. billing for room calls in case PMS integration is not used (equivalent of hotel module web interface in v14 - calls are listed upon room check-out)

If these features are coming later, would you be able to provide estimated arrival date?

We are not planning a dedicated hotel module web interface. We now provide PMS integration free of charge so we expect most hotels to go with that. However some of those features you mention above might be available via the web client in time.

Nick:

Will the wallboard when it comes out be able to display individual queue stats or will it show all of the stats of the queues selected in combined stats (like previously). Also can it be customized or will the wallboard be as it appears. I'll DM the reason for the questions on the wallboard.

Hi Tracy

There is no technical limitation applied to inbound faxing via G711. That said its definitely not the preferred way to deliver a 70 pages document. reliability will depend on the senders fax machine and your provider.

I am afraid we don't provide additional license keys for testing purposes. If you are a reseller though you have access to your NFR keys for testing and demo purposes.

In the wallboard you can filter out which queues you want to display.

Re security - yes it will match the client (maybe not all right now)

Nick - this is looking pretty great! I just wish - don't hit me - that the relationship with Grandstream was stronger for the newer line of phones.
But as always, 3cx continuing to innovate. I just need to see how things will work with an unsupported phone.

Hi,

With 3CX 15.5 the Webclient CTI function (Yealink) is working great! (Also when the phone and desktop are not in the same netwerk (remote desktop cloud workspace).

But the desktop app CTI is still trying to connect trough the lan ip of the ip phone. It would be great when the desktop app uses the same method as the webclient. (so relay the cti request trough the pbx)

Hi Rsh,

Our efforts will on the web client for the foreseeable future and I think this will soon become the client of choice for most if not using 3CX client as a softphone. That said we will re evaluate in a few months time.

Thank you for the heads up! With the new CSTA integration it will pay even more to use a supported phone as the integration will be so neat and solid. We even can sync DND. Unsupported phones will just do the old basic Make call function. Grandstream doesnt even do CSTA to begin with as AFAIK.

The DND Sync is what I have been dreaming about for years... my last job was Yealink... before GS was really on the horizon. This rollout - I had a very tight budget and didn't have many options. The T29 is very similar but still $50 more each. Perhaps if they could have seen the maintenance time on an unsupported phone, they would have given me the extra $5000.

Yes its perfect :) Well, are you sure the Yealink is $50 extra?? It really shouldn't be. Its usually a couple of dollars, maybe $5 max per phone.... There is also HTEK and FANVIL, I am sure they can price match Grandstream?

Also keep in mind that the hardware quality of Yealink is also far above that of Grandstream

The T29 is around $130 if I recall while the GS 2130 is about $80.
The HTEK and Fanvil were not out at the time I think - but are nice looking devices. Do not know how they feel in the hand.

If I were in the market to replace all my phones, I would only buy a supported phone... which is now financially possible with some new supported vendors.

Hi Craig - Yes but i think the comparable model to GS 2130 is more like the old Yealink T26 which is much closer to $80. Anyway seems its done now. We do have MakeCall improvements on the way for unsupported phones so it will still be workable. Plus you could buy yealink phones for new staff and the first one can be yours :) And in all honesty if Grandstream does support CSTA in future it would also work with the new web client.

I do have 1 Yealink that they sent me to Beta Test - a T48. Nice little unit.
Cross my fingers for GS firmware update.

Hi,
just tried the new Version before using pbxexpress - looks really good, thanks for this.
It's now possible to import private contacts, this is a feature I really need. Would it also be possible to add a possibility to export the private contacts to csv?

Nick, thanks for your response.
Dedicated hotel web interface vs. having some of the features available in web client at later stage is fair enough.
However, the one major issue which I'm seeing right away is missing made status which would allow for pushing room status info down to PMS integrated hotel software. This I'm afraid is stopping us from rolling out v15.5 into majority of the hotels we work with, both Iceland and Norway as this feature is a must for customers.

Wake-up calls booking - guest self service is available and works just fine. However, some of the hotels we work with are using hotel software which doesn't allow for booking wake-ups or does it in poor way. For those sites, we are heading for quite some headache if we are to implement v15.5.
Since wake-ups are now written down to pbx database instead of using xml file (v14), are we able to use server side api to create, modify and remove wake-up calls?

Will the new wallboard be customizable? For example, do not show the callbacks if customer does not use it.

Installed the new beta on a test environment just this morning, and took the web client for a spin.
So far I am quite impressed, although i have yet to test all features more deeply.
I would say it is a good step in the way of getting rid of hardware phones and the 3cx app.
Of course, I will probably encounter a few issues, but overall: good job!

But please tell that the final sp5 has the ' notify administrator about installed updates" feature...

Installed a new version. IOS client without problems. Android The calls do not come when the program is closed. There Is No Push

Set it up on PBX Express and it looks good so far. I wanted to see if the Switchboard would support "Q-Manager" and "Reception" views but it was hard to tell since the free version does not support call queues. I don't see anything in the web client to select those switchboard views (just all calls, queue calls and wallboard) so I am not sure if it matches the Windows client switchboard functionality or not? We were hoping this would be an alternative client for our Mac clients since the Mac client is limited.

I was glad to see CTI functionality since that is not in the Mac client.

Hi Christian, Good point, will take this into consideration.... But we now have perfect sync working with O 365 btw

Hi, Yes all that functionality is in the web client and we plan to expand on it in the future....

Thank you for this feedback. Maid status codes and wake up calls via web interface in a nutshell?

You might need the updated android client, which has not yet been released. We will check. Good point.
