Good morning everyone,

I have a 3cx hosted v20 system and I have google cloud storage for recordings. I have followed a few of the instructions for transcribing voicemails to text but it appears the voicemails are in fact not transcribing. Does anyone have any idea on how to resolve this? For reference this is the documentation I followed. https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/google-speech-api-v2/ I have also followed this somewhat as its on the old version of 3cx so not everything is the same in v20. https://www.3cx.com/docs/voicemail-transcription/

Any help is appreciated.

Hi @HIS-ITStaff

This can be caused by many factors. Check if you have configured any retention policy on the bucket as this is a common occurrence with transcription issues

Ya I figured as much. Kind of why I had to post here just because I have looked at as much as I can think of. Currently the settings for retention are None under Bucket retention policy and Object retention is not enabled.

As this can be caused by many reasons, we suggest opening a ticket so that we can review the logs of the PBX and identify the issue.

Anything in the event log of Admin regarding this?

It appears this just magically fixed itself. The only thing i saw in the event log was randomly one line said "Transcription started working" lol not much help but it works now lol This was after hours of testing and leaving voicemails to myself.

We are glad the issue has been resolved

Hi everyone,

I had the same issue, but fixed now.

But I just wonder if there is a way to catch the transcription and use inside an integration (CRM) ?

Hi @gaby9aplus

It is not possible to catch the transcription and use it inside the CRM integration.

To be more precise, adding call transcriptions as part of the 3CX sponsored CRM integration is not possible, but it is absolutely possible with a custom integration. Companies including @VoIPTools and @ConceptsWeb can create custom integrations for you. We can help!

Do you use an API for your custom integration or a simple FTP export ?

I assume uploading the transcription would be accomplished using the API's provided by your CRM. You can DM me directly and discuss your needs. There are lots of different ways we can build an integration via a server-side or client-side integration.
