Update 2 Beta: Re-introducing the Global Search Bar

@ConceptsWeb Well bridged extensions dont get listed in the extensions view anyway. And re CRM it never searched the CRM database why would it, you have to search the contact from the CRM itself.... This is independent of the contacts view...

What do you mean? I see the extensions in my People view?

Yeah I know, that's what I said. But once I call a number once, the integration does the lookup and syncs the contact to the Contacts view which is faster than my CRM. That's all I'm saying lol

@ConceptsWeb Gonna look into this matters next week. Including why you cant favorite extensions on a bridge :)

@Tyler.Calhoun We are going to bring back sorting by extension. The new default will be alphabetic sorting, really sorting by extension makes no sense.

@ConceptsWeb - You are right that you can not favorite bridge extensions now, we are going to add this in the next update.....(not 2)

Also we will enlarge the area for incoming caller ID to accomodate more information shown on inbound call.

Thank you to consider the community and customers.

All good news! Finally I'll be able to favorite the exts I really need lol

I'm also glad for the "by extension sorting" simply because we use that to reorder the ext by bridge lol

Will there be the posibility to switch back to the old design in the web app? Almost everyone of our users complain about the new one. Ok you bring back the global search bar in the new version but why are mailbox and contacts hidden under the three ponts now? Every webbrowser has enough space to show all options. For almost everyone of our 150 users, the old design was much better. So please give us the decision to switch to the old design!

This will not happen.

Your only hope is to upvote ideas until it gets enough traction.

@MidiTélécom posted it in the ideas but I cannot find the link.

If you not using random extensions, it makes sense :) We're grouping eg. by department (1xx sales). Unfortunately, there is no view with grouped extensions in the web app available. There is one on the legacy windows app though.

@Bolz IT You can select a group to display as default? Alternatively you can use Favorites? Lets us know what you mean because we are reviewing this now.

I'm aware of favorites, but that does not solve the grouping.
In the legacy windows app, there is a view "receptionist", where you can view the extensions by group. And in the client, you can collapse certain groups for better visibility:

In the new app, I can see only one group or all the extensions, without the distinction by groups.
So introducing the (optional) grouping in the "all groups" view would be a great improvement. Then the sorting by name wouldn't be that big issue :)

When will Voxtelesys be added to the supported SMS providers list? Been waiting for over a year now.

@JEdgarton you have to choose from the available sms providers. This has been communicated clearly for over a year now

@Nick Galea Not sure you read my message entirely. I know how to choose from the providers that are there. We have been told that Voxtelesys will be a supported SMS provider for over a year and they are still not a provider. Being told that the hold up is 3CX and approving their api. Are you going to support more SMS providers other then the 5 that have been there?

Thanks for bringing back the search bar, just tested the new beta and it definitely is a huge improvement!!
Is there an estimate yet as to when this will be implemented in the regular V18? (not the beta)

Few weeks, by Christmas I'd say. They usually release an update right before they go on vacation lol

Debian updates are frozen right now due to a package issue. See this topic:

@BolzIT - we will look into this view. I see what you mean. Cant they use the drop down at the right? But for now the old windows app is fully supported on v18 just FYI
@JEdgarton OK i am not sure who told you that but I am not aware of this commitment to supporting this particular provider. We are planning to support more over time but unfortunately each provider has their own API, and we are not planning to support them all or indeed a lot. You can combine a SMS provider with another SIP trunk provider btw. That said, hopefully we will soon have an API that will allow SMS providers to integrate with 3CX by themselves, so maybe this is what Voxtelesys is referring to.
@chili Thanks for the heads up, it will be in update 2, out soon
@Callinectes @cobalitit Yes as cobalit pointed out we are updating something because of some changes to Debian. As a side note we will soon release an update to fix once and for all this dependency on Debian updates.
