Add your contacts from your choice of CRM, Microsoft and / or 3CX.

Update 8 is another massive update bringing together many of the things we’ve been working on this year and complemented by our enhanced security-focused approach. From easier setup and better integration with your Office 365, to adding your contacts from your...

"Ringer off" in the Webclient is a great addition!

Question about the Buy button. Does it disappear for licenses linked to partners? Otherwise the client can easily bypass the partner and upgrade. In these cases, would we still get the amount applied to our sales target?

Also, can we get some details on the "Supported CRMs" on client-side? I see very basic settings only. No auth or anything.

Not seeing 8 Alpha as an upgrade option - still only 7A showing (.424). Checked 2 systems, including our demo system.

Strange, I literally just updated our lab instance 10min ago.

Could be the delay for the CDNs to replicate.

Just checked systems hosted at Vultr, Azure, and our office and none are seeing it. I'm sure it will show soon.

Update to the next available version first.

So far I like what I see. A couple of questions:

- I'd like to reiterate the question from ConceptsWeb about the BUY tab. If associated with partner could the link not be customizable - default to 3CX but adjustable for a partner to use their own contact link, or something along these lines?

- Is the ability to assign a hold music to a group and giving control of that MoH to a group admin going to be an option? Different departments will want to have different music on hold and this has been missing from 3CX to this point. I can see there being a default still but if routing goes to a group instead then a different MoH could be assigned. I supposed for outbound calls a user would have to be assigned to a primary group if they didn't want the default MoH. I'm sure there are other ways to handle.

@ConceptsWeb - clientside is very basic it requires that you are authenticated on the web browser with your CRM already....

@ConceptsWeb, @Callinectes - I will check buy link behaviour in principle it should show the reseller name if there is a reseller associated and if not will allow you to link to a partner or choose a partner....

@Callinectes - right now MOH is still systemwide, its not linked to a group...

Oh yeah that makes sense lol it should work for many people tho.

We're talking about this:

That's our NFR license (linked to our partner portal, obviously) but still shows the 3CX direct buy first instead of "contact your partner" like the Mgmt Console does.

Great job on the reports! Are we gonna be able to program the schedule from there as well eventually?

This option is to launch an URL in a new browser tab, which will do a search in the CRM, in which you must be already logged in. 3CX will just open the link, including the phone number or email address (depending on if dealing with a call, SMS or LiveChat) as part of the URL. The CRM will do the rest.

In this update we're also including other new features for server side CRM, like contact creation from the web client or contact search from different parts of the web client. The client side approach is very simple, and it's something that might be useful when your company has a group of people working with a CRM, and other group with another system. In that case you could have both having a popup in the system they need.

and when to wait for the 7A final?

Yeah that's actually a good way of doing it. I saw Google Contacts in there so that's cool.

Will we be able to add our owns to this JSON that lists the available ones?

like contact creation from the web client or contact search from different parts of the web client.
Saw that! Works well! Wished it searched in the Team tabs too, not just in Contacts > CRM.

Not for now, you can always use the already existing approach to launch an URL on inbound calls.

thank you for adding in this.
  • H264 support for intercom in apps shows video both ways
This is going to be very useful to finally be able to see who is at the door from the smart phone app before remotely unlocking the door :-)

Also looking forward to rolling out all the other updates to my customers. Thanks 3CX.

that's great news a lot of changes that's really very interesting I just hope that the teams status synchronization will also come in the final version which was promised to me by 3CX with version 18 update 8
And what is also important to mention is that the headset integration is being revised again so that calls from other applications are not constantly being terminated. Then it is a product where you can make calls again. Thanks to the 3CX team until then.
Teams status sync will come but we can not give exact dates.

In regards to headset integration - this is up to the headset provider to arrange and organize in their driver. Also to be clear you are not meant to use Teams app and 3Cx app at the same time and then decide which app to use based on the call. Either be a teams user or a 3cx user and the idea of the integration is that both groups of users can then call each other. nothing more.

@JupiterIT Well it depends on which brand of headset you are talking about. We only officially support Yealink although we also check against the latest models of Jabra. If you have a Jabra or Yealink comment like that then email me that information and we will take it up with them.

In regards to Teams running in parallel do you mean the same call being sent to both Teams and 3CX at the same time? This is not supported / envisaged. If you want to use 3CX for PSTN calls and Teams for Teams to Teams this is fine though. if the headset cant handle multiple apps you have to take it up with the headset vendor. In many cases it requires their full windows client drivers but you have to talk to them what is exactly required.

In regards to status synchro - a reliable API only became available recently but its certainly on our roadmap.

Hi
The update on Linux was with success, however, we are not offered U8 Alpha on a Windows 8 Server (currently running 7B).
Anyone who has been offered the Update 8 on Windows servers?
