Solved Upgrade from 14 to 16 - License Question

I am aware of the upgrade from 14 needing to first go to 15.5 SP6. My question is, when I restore the backup to 15.5SP 6 and it asks me to input the license, will my new version 16 license be accepted on the 15.5SP6? Or must I skip the license input portion, can I? If I cannot, will the 15.5 SP6 accept my version 16 license?

A freshly bought version 16 license will not work on V15.5SP6 so it will not be possible.

Unfortunately the ability to upgrade from a V14 (that became EOL in 2017) may no longer be possible.

If you currently own a V14 license key, then contact support directly to see if there are any options.

Is it possible to import a backup from V14 into V16 directly?

No, it is not possible. V16 is very different to V14.

So I got it right, version 15.5SP6 doesn't ask for a license upfront because it gives you the option of either entering a license, uploading a config file or restoring a config. I just restored V14 to V15.5SP6 and then backed up 15.5 and installed 16 and restored the backup again.
