I am using a 3CX hosted system. When incoming calls come into my office that are not answered goes to a general voicemail box where the voicemail gets distributed through a hunt group to email since multiple users may need to review the message depending on who is working at that time. All users have their own line assigned to their phone that is not this line. The receptionist who is close to a waiting room, prefers [understandably] to listen to the VM over the phone for privacy. I manually created on the Fanvil 6U phone a second [unsupported] line with a MWI light so that she can 1] see when their is a message present and 2] listen to the message privately. I have since discovered that on a hosted system, this MWI lamp on the Fanvil gets reset every day or so because I think the hosted system reprovisions the phone and settings. Is there a way around this to keep this on the phone with a hosted system [understood it is not supported].

Thanks

She can also use the Webclient/DesktopApp to listen to voicemails. Those obviously need to be in her extension.

Also, ever heard of a headset? You will not get help for this as it is an unsupported scenario on a Hosted system.

Configure the phone, provision it. When done, remove the provisioning url from the phone. Make you change

Does mean any new templates you will have to reprovision the phone by adding the url back to get the latest phone template

Phones will get reprovisioned every 24 hrs, on all systems - does not matter if hosted or locall 3cx

Good options. Thanks. Best option would be to be able to have a second line on the phone with a MWI

Just want to add that, adding a second line to the device will render the whole device's configuration unsupported and not only that second line.

Also, just so I understand the situation better, what line did you add? If the voicemail the user wants to listen to is that of a Ring Group VM box, then there essentially is no VM box, the voicemail will essentially get sent via email as an attachment to the Ring Group members. I may be completely misunderstanding the situation but can you please elaborate as there may be a better way to achieve this.

Incoming calls go to a ring group, if no answer, the call goes to a digital receptionist where the caller can leave a voicemail to a phantom user. That phantom user has VM forwarded via an email server to a group of 4 people through an email.

In general, having a MWI on the phone for a shared line/VM box is good so you know when a VM has been left and see it right away. The employees eventually see the VM in their email, but there is a delay, which can occasionally cause an issue.

I see, well if the email is not enough to notify the users and you really need the MWI then I really cannot see any other way you could achieve this.
