What's cooking this summer at 3CX?

The reason i ask Nick is we are a provider but we're only a silver reseller at present (should be gold by the end of the year) but to become a supported trunk you need to be at the level of Titanium. We sell virtual mobile numbers and would like to be able to get those inbound texts to our clients using 3CX, for most clients not having the ability to get inbound sms from virtual mobiles we provide is a show stopper for them in taking up a virtual mobile number.

I read one of your response in another posts that you would be opening up the sms API, hence my question. So is that not on the road map at all?

@Nick Galea While you're approving packages, let's look at hypervisor agents. Make sure that KVM, Hyper-V, VMware (and open VMWare) agents are allowed if in the Debian repo.

@Mike Hammett VMware and Hyper V are already in there... We will check about KVM

Hello,

Regarding the upcoming SMS and web chat updates for 3cx. I read where you are saying 3cx is reworking this area to be better.
My question or actually my hopes and wishlist. Do you feel you are referring to being on par with other software in this area, like

  1. HubSpot
  2. Chatbot
any all the many other ones. And specifically the rich features like

scripts
flows
AI
and integrations to zapier etc

I hope I asked these questions or presented my wishlist for this correctly.

Thank you!

Doug Holcombe

@DougH On par with normal chat solutions yes... Most customers do not require the features you refer to... However, there will definitely be an integration with Google Dialogflow at some point but not for a while.
@realtime - thanks for the heads up. Yes its on our roadmap just not for these updates.....
@Alex Sweeney weeney - We are not ready to give out the API yet and we have no time frame for it.

I am testing MCM and this is really exciting!
one question, I notice that the "company phonebook" is still used over all groups. Is there something in the future that we can have separate phonebooks for every group?

Yes but not yet. For now, I think the phonebook is still global and the one on IP phones gets disabled when MCM is on. (From our testing.)

Because in software development, we don't give ETAs. Roadmaps can change, issues or roadblocks can arrive, and people tend to see dates as "firm" when really, it's a estimate.

Some things, like On-Prem WebMeeting servers, are still on the roadmap but have been delayed for almost 2 years now. Imagine if they had given a date...

@Nick Galea knows this very well thus why he doesn't give dates in the roadmap post.

Be glad we even have a roadmap lol

Any word on what will happen with current Standard licences with more than 4SC? (i.e. not free)

@WimNet Group phonebooks are there and will be in all versions. Just not yet for IP Phones, its just for apps and web client. IP Phones will come for sure too but later on. In terms of dates hard to give but we are really pushing to get this out by end of summer, i.e. September. I cant guarantuee the date.
@ConceptsWeb Thanks for the support :) Except Update 6 is a priority, on premise MCU was not. But its 95% ready. That said i still think our MCU in the cloud is the way to go unless you have big privacy concerns.
@bm-ait You will be able to renew for quite a while, so i suggest renew for a few years? Very few customers are on standard above 8 SC

As a side note about central management of status scheduler - if you really need that (although new one is much much better as its respects time zone, group time (not system time) then stay on update 3 for a while longer. There are no critical security issues.

Will the partner-installed StartUP work as a fully multi-tenant installation?

No plan to support Huawei Mobile phones ? (30% worldwide phones)
No plan to support computers with multiple audio devices, today is quite normal ?

Hey Nick,

If you put hands on group phonebook (which is great), will you remove the ip phones 'mobile number only' limitation by the way?

What do you mean by multiple audio devices? You can pick which ever device you want

With all the emphasis on Groups in coming releases, is there any way Groups can be added as a filter in all the Reports Selections? Particularly, Call Detail and Extension Statistics

Hello Nick.
It is true, basically there are many clients that for confidentiality and security require and demand that the MCU be on premise. and it is an option that other solutions have not seen and could have potential.
In our case, our clients request it and expect a lot.
