Hi all!

I have 4 agents sitting on 4 Yealink T-42S in the same local lan hosted in amazon lightsail.
T-42S are awesome sip phones and they have uncounted possibilities and functions but I noticed that they can't do a simple but so useful function, when some agent push DND button the other agents can't see that the guy who pushed the DND button is busy on their Yealink phones. I mean at least the bulb on the blf leds should light up red! Am I right?

Did someone resolve this issue?

Thank you for reading this! You maybe help or get helped from the expert answer's in here.

Hi there! The BLF buttons on the phones represent if the extension that is allocated to that button is on call, idle or ringing.

Technically speaking when an extension has pressed the DND button, it is not on a call, so it is idle and thus the led is Green.
The BLF button does not monitor profile statuses, so it is not issue, it is just the way it works.

What your users could is have their Web Client in the background in CSTA mode, so they can "remote control" their phone, while at the same time see the status of all the rest of the extensions.

Nick thank you for the useful information, please tell me what do you mean by CSTA mode ?

When you log into the Web Client, if the extension credentials you login with also has a IP Phone registered to it, in the top-right you can select whether the Web Client will be used to make calls via the PC using headset, or you can select the IP Phone.
If you select the IP Phone (this is CSTA mode), whatever number you dial, a command will be sent to the IP Phone so it is dialed through that.
Basically, having the Web Client open you get in my opinion the best of 2 worlds:
- People who like using desk phones can continue using it fine
- You get all the 3CX goodies like chat, presence information, web meetings, etc
- You can quickly dial other extension or copy paste number you want to dial from your PC, and just pickup your deskphone to to do the talking

Personally over the years I have become more and more used to using a headset, 2 hands on the keyboard while not having to have the telephone between your head and shoulder is marvelous! :)

Perfect Nick! i will try to get use the headsets with the web client and i will tell you my impressions after a while!
Thank you for the useful information!

Stay safe :)
