Using Zoho Email With 3CX

Introduction

Zoho strongly recommends that you set up Two-Factor Authentication on email accounts for safety and security purposes. With 2FA enabled, you will need to set up a dedicated App Password in Zoho to send 3CX emails through Zoho Mail's SMTP service.

Set Up Your Zoho Account For 3CX

Generate a Zoho application-specific password

  • Click Generate New Password

  • Type an app name (e.g., mypbx.3cx-example.com) and click Generate

  • Copy the password generated by Zoho and click Close

Configure SMTP settings in 3CX

  • Log into your 3CX Admin Console

  • Go to System > Email, select SMTP Server in the Email Server dropdown, and enter the Zoho server configuration details
  • Save your configuration, and click the Test button to confirm that you can receive PBX-generated outbound emails
