Using Zoho Email With 3CX
Introduction
Zoho strongly recommends that you set up Two-Factor Authentication on email accounts for safety and security purposes. With 2FA enabled, you will need to set up a dedicated App Password in Zoho to send 3CX emails through Zoho Mail's SMTP service.
Set Up Your Zoho Account For 3CX
Generate a Zoho application-specific password
- Log in to your Zoho Account Console
- Navigate to Security > App Passwords
- Click Generate New Password
- Type an app name (e.g., mypbx.3cx-example.com) and click Generate
- Copy the password generated by Zoho and click Close
Configure SMTP settings in 3CX
- Log into your 3CX Admin Console
- Go to System > Email, select SMTP Server in the Email Server dropdown, and enter the Zoho server configuration details
- Save your configuration, and click the Test button to confirm that you can receive PBX-generated outbound emails
