Dial “0” for Operator

A question we regularly get is “How can we set up Dialling 0 for operator?”. The following documentation will show you how to set up an alias for an extension.

This can be achieved as follows:

  • Go to the 3CX Management Console > “Extensions”.
  • Select the extension you want to set as operator.
  • Switch to “Other” tab.
  • Set the SIPID to “0”.
  • Press “Apply” or “OK” to save.

Now from any extension, you can dial “0” to reach the extension which has “0” as its SIP ID.

Note that you cannot have multiple extensions with the same SIP ID – the SIP ID must be unique. Another interesting point to note is that this would also work to dial phones with an alpha-numeric SIP ID.
