3CX to support Grok for transcription in update 9.

AI is evolving fast and so is 3CX. We’re making a number of updates to our editions to better reflect how AI features are delivered and priced today. This includes changes to ENT+, support for providers like Grok, simpler edition naming and updated pricing and discounts. Read on for the details.

3CX to Support Grok in Update 9

In update 9, 3CX will support GROK for transcription. Grok transcription is significantly cheaper than Google, OpenAI and even 3CX cloud transcription.

Therefore, 3CX has decided to retire ENT+. As you may recall, ENT+ was made available to our partners and customers earlier this year. Since then, market conditions have shifted rapidly. Transcription services are now widely available at significantly lower cost, with providers such as Grok offering more competitive pricing than any other provider. As a result, 3CX will no longer actively promote this edition and will instead focus on supporting third-party providers.

With V20 Update 9, we’ll support Grok in the same way we already support OpenAI. This means customers can continue using transcription via supported third-party providers directly in 3CX.

Self Hosted AI

We will continue to develop our self hosted AI and are working on an improved version that will make it much easier to install. The big advantage of privacy remains one of the core advantages of self hosted AI.

Enterprise Edition to be Renamed to AI Edition

We're updating our Edition names. Enterprise/AI Edition will be renamed to AI Edition. The term “Enterprise” may be misleading particularly for companies that need advanced features but don’t consider themselves enterprise-sized. The new naming makes it crystal clear which Edition includes AI functionality, regardless of your business size.

To recap, 3CX will continue to offer three commercial Editions as follows:

  • Basic - for standard PBX functionality
  • PRO - adding advanced call handling and reporting
  • AI  - including AI and transcription features

Customers Currently Using ENT+ Cloud Transcription

Customers currently using ENT+ can continue using the service as is. Should customers however want to have a refund for a recently purchased ENT+ 16SC licenses, please contact customer service.

NFR Editions

The NFR Ent Plus subscription will be phased out within the coming months. These will be replaced with the AI Edition.

Pricing & Spring Discount Offers

Our pricing page, including current discounts, has been updated to reflect these changes. And a reminder, that as part of our Q2 spring promotion, customers can benefit from discounts of up to 30% on upgrades, renewals and new licenses, with options to secure long-term pricing through multi-year agreements!
