Attention all SMS users! Action required.
In the next couple of days Update 6 will be released. If you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to reconfigure your Bandwidth, Telnyx, Twilio, Flowroute SMS! If you don’t do so, either before or immediately after the release, you’ll find your SMS won’t work. We don’t want that!
Simplified SMS Configuration
With Update 3 you didn’t need to reconfigure. Even with Updates 4 and 5, despite our SMS integration receiving a massive overhaul, existing configurations were still supported. But now - with Update 6 - the old messaging proxy will be terminated. In its place you’ll find a much simpler SMS configuration, residing directly within the SIP trunk configuration.
It’s Now or Never!
With commercial installs completed yesterday, we’ve seen that many SMS users have not yet prepared for the messaging changes. We urge you to prepare for the update now or immediately after upgrading to Update 6.
What Should I Do?
You’ll need to delete and recreate all previous SMS configurations using a new simplified method. Follow the directions below:
- Check out the guides for our SMS providers that were supported on our old messaging proxy: Bandwidth, Flowroute, Twilio.
- If you’re using PREFERRED or SUPPORTED providers Skyetel, Voxtelesys, Wavix - you don’t need to do anything.
Reminder: We strongly recommend moving to preferred and supported providers!
