Distributed systems like 3CX WebMeeting, with a geographically-dispersed infrastructure serving about 100K+ web conferencing sessions and 200K+ participants each month, can and do face technical issues. WebMeeting users are now in the know by heading to the new 3CX WebMeeting Service Status page, to get a bird's-eye view of the service nodes’ availability and any occurring issues.

Service Status

The 3CX WebMeeting status page allows you to see the web meeting servers that are available and what their status is

Using the service status page is straight-forward:

  • Just hover your mouse over any of the green dots on the world map to see each server's location and availability.
  • Review the server info table below the map to find the one closest to you with the lowest roundtrip time. If you want to try to connect to a WebMeeting server other than the automatically recommended one:
    • in Web Client: when scheduling a new video conference, click on the spanner button to explicitly set the server in "Meeting Location".
    • in Management Console: Go to "Settings" > "Conferencing" to select your preferred MCU server for all meetings created via your PBX.
  • Read the event log on the right-hand side for important events and issues, regarding the availability of the WebMeeting infrastructure.

In closing, the notion that systems can always be online and 100% foolproof is a myth. The reality is that any system can experience occasional hiccups and faults. Embracing reality, 3CX now gives its users the ability to monitor via the 3CX WebMeeting Service Status page and bypass temporarily inaccessible MCUs.
