A New Frontier in Communications - 3CX StartUP

Hi,

if we can use one large 3CX license to share between startup instances on our servers, is it also possible to share a global trunk between theses instances and assign DIDs to specific instances. One big licence, one big trunk, one big smile on my face ;)

@SteveITS, you can install it in the cloud too on a VM, no problem. If you install it yourself you can connect any trunk
@Julienl You can do exactly that. Its a manual process that way but you can absolutely do it. You can also easily do different office hours per group etc.

Basically, in a nutshell, this version has supercharged groups with many more features and you can configure them to not see each other. Thats how it works. Groups now have their own group phonebook, office hours even a mini IVR which has inbuilt time based routing features. Then as admin or reseller you can have management console access and not give it to any of the groups basically. You can set time zones per group now as well, lots of other things that make it easy to host multiple companies.

Also we are working to SMS enable SIP trunks so its automatically enabled for any number.

About pro version can we use bridges?
I think it's useful for something like a receptionist for shared office.

Thanks Nick, I missed that blogpost.

The follow on question is this. You will be updating the Wordpress live chat for support of both scenarios? We have a good bunch of clients using same.

When you schedule the the update of the 3CX Systems of your customers to Update 4, you might want to also then update the WP Plugin for them at the same time to take advantage of the new features that will be coming with it.

The product looks awesome and works great however from the trunk page, there is no way to see if a trunk is online of not?

@Nick W Good point.... Switch auto update on current wordpress plugin as the new one will not be compatible with update 3. Then when we launch update 4, you can go to the latest wordpress plugin.... Its more compact and reliable.
@Oliver_Aatrox Good point actually, currently not a feature though, its not meant as a monitoring page just for configuration...

Is my understanding correct: I can have ONE Self-Managed DEDICATED PRO (32 sim calls) licensed instance to host multiple instances using the same dedicated pro license and features?

Apologies if I missed it, but is there an explanation of what it means to be a 'user', 'receptionist', and 'manager'?

Is it the same as in the main 3cx products as listed at this link (e.g. a 'receptionist' can, among other things, set other extensions' status):

Hi Guys,

Is there a backup mechanism for the hosted 3CX Startup Free?

If so, is there a reference that shows how to use it?

I would be a bit leery of encouraging clients to use a phone system without a means of backing up their configuration - if it went wrong, they might expect us to restore everything for them for free!

@anonymouse Yes.... With a max of 32 sim calls of course so you need to monitor license usage because one group take up more sim calls then the other and there are no controls around it so you will to license accordingly
 
@Alan9846 Its a cloud system there is no backup of the system other then by the cloud services team. Of course export of messages and users will be possible at some point. If you want full backup go dedicated and have a backup of all the data on the system. A receptionist can see all the calls but not admin the system, see our getting started doc. Its a new role to 3CX that will come into Update 4 also.

Of course, love the idea of being able to run one instance for multiple customers. Will it be possible to combine multiple v18 Pro and Enterprise instances, currently installed on separate operating systems, into one instance (to achieve multi-tenant, again, yeah!). Oh, self-hosted, of course.

Does that mean we will be getting a report to track SIM call usage?

@uptime1 - Well if your base system is enterprise then everybody gets enterprise. However many enterprise features are not compatible with startup. For example AD sync, Teams integration, server based CRM, some advanced called center features require a dedicated server. So enterprise customers need dedicated at least for the foreseeable future. We will be getting Office 365 integration at the client level though.

@Rhys Haskell - for the whole server - yes still in queue but yes we need this.
