Attention all SMS users! Action required. In the next couple of days Update 6 will be released. If you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to reconfigure your Bandwidth, Telnyx, Twilio, Flowroute SMS! If you don’t do so, either before or immediately after the release, you’ll find your SMS won’t work. We don’t want that!

So question about this Hanna, We did the required changes, but no one can see the option to send out SMS and also our trunks use IVRs so we do also not get them, how can we fix that?

Nevermind we just noticed everyone in that queue nows has the ability to send them

Hi @MatthewC,

Please note that in order for an extension to be able to initiate an SMS conversation, an SMS enabled DID must be routing to a destination that is part of(Call Queue, Ring Group, Extension Group, or directly to the extension).

Keep in mind though, that this applies for all DIDs. You will have to point all the DIDs that you want the extension to use for initiating SMS conversations to a destination that is part of.

makes sense, now what happens if two DID's are pointing to the same destination will they be able to choose which to SMS out as? Or does that only apply inbound?

Yup, they'll see a list of DIDs to choose from.

Exactly, and don't worry, you'll only be asked when starting the chat, then you won't be asked again until you've "Dealth with" the conversation. 1675296070718.png

I have the same issue, Changed form CFA to a Queue sending works, receive does not

I Finally Figured out Somewhat
For me I Host on Telnyx
You need a Message Profile for each DID that you want SMS to work

I have Message Profile, still does not work, Send Only

Make sure that in the Message Profile you could test that DID
You may have 2 Profiles listed under Multiple DID's

Got it to work, had to rebuild the trunk

Is there a solution for routing SMS to users where the DID is routed to a CFD?
Also, if in office hours is routed to a queue but outside hours is routed to end call or an external number, is there any way to preserve SMS messages that come in outside hours?

Yes, you can send call to IVR without prompt, after 1 sec, no input, send destination CallFlow extension number.

@G.BOURGEOIS thanks for the reply. I'm aware of this workaround, I was hoping for an actual solution.
One of my clients has around 10 offices and which all have DIDs that direct to CFDs and I was trying to avoid having to make 10 more IVRs (especially now that I can't put them down in the 0xx range with the rest of the IVRs) and adding a delay to the front of the call.
Documenting their call flow was already pretty messy and this is going to add to it.
Sorry for being grouchy, stayed up too late upgrading servers. I do appreciate the help.
