I have a sheet from my telco that shows me the prices per minute. So I dumped that in excel, divided that by 60 (seconds) and those numbers I added into the Call Costs table. Took 5 minute, bit tedious but done. Now when I run a report, and look at the pricing its deviating a bit from my manual calculation?

For example: 2minutes and 11 seconds = 131 seconds
Call cost per second is 0.04
So you would expect the cost to be 5.24, however the system tells me the cost is 0.08

I might have misunderstood, but is the call costs in minute or seconds?

Also, In the region I operate (UAE), the currency needs us to use something greater than 0.005 but the 3CX system can only go upto 0.01. How would that be solved?

Thanks!
Paul

Just curious what exactly this is going to accomplish? Unless you are trying to break out the costs internally just use the provider reports.

The 3CX 'Call Reports >> $Call Costs' is the cost per minute. As you note, the cost input field can't directly handle more than 2 decimal places - but as a possible workaround (depending on how many destinations you have) see:

3CX works out the cost of calls based simply on Rate/minute x Duration. If your provider rounds the durations up or applies minimum or set-up charges then you will never get an exactly matching result (at least using 3CX Call Reports, exact matching can be done by calculating call costs from 3CX Call Data Records, but this requires an extra program)

Believe it or not but the provider here makes “mistakes”

I’ll leave it with that. :)

Thanks for the reply. I’m gonna update it to minute rate.

I have a feeling that no mater what (3CX records) data you provided, to try to prove they were incorrect in their billing, they would still charge you whatever they felt you owed.

This is kind what I was getting at. If your provider is being shady then I would look for another provider. But if they are willing to work with you if there are large discrepancies then I could see the point. But as @Cjay mentions you are probably best exporting to CDR and doing the math there.

Like I said, Telco is making mistakes here, hence I was asking. I am not concerned about a few bucks, but we did experience massive miscalculations.

There aren't any other suppliers here. Anyway, I am going to look into it.

Well that sucks. Hopefully they are willing to work with you. Good luck!
