I have searched for anyone with the same issue and have found similar but nothing exact... It seems mine is failing here:
[31m[19:31] Preparation: Found an uncommon source list in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/: 3cxpbx.list.save - 0[39m
::FAIL::

  • 3CX Version, 16.0.6.655
  • Server OS, Debian 9
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? Hosted in Google
  • Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES

Hi there,

As the error indicates, there is file under /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ directory which prevents the upgrade script from proceeding. That file is 3cxpbx.list.save. Check if there is another file named 3cxpbx.list. If there is and it's not empty (meaning it contains 3CX Debian stretch repo), then you can safely delete 3cxpbx.list.save and run the upgrade again.

So this is kind of urgent! After removing that file Debian updated to version 10 without issue, however it got hung up on updating 3cx and I could not roll it back either... I ended up having to do a full reinstall and then restore. However We can only make outbound calls, no inbound calls are working. I am at a loss on what to try next and it is urgent that I get this fixed as soon as I can...

Services all look fine and the firewall checker comes back good...

Sounds like you should be talked to your provider. They are the ones responsible for delivery calls to your VM. If they confirm they are delivering calls and you see the attempts in the logs, then we may be able to help.

The upgrade failed while installing some Google packages. Also it seems that this machine must have been a really old one. Doing a full reinstall and restoring on top was the right choice.

It from 2017. I figured out the inbound call issue, I just needed to calm down and step away for a minute to remember that the new Servers IP would have to be provided to our Sip Trunk Provider.

And after this, we are switching to the 3cx managed service :D

Glad to hear you have figured things out!

Switching to Hosted by 3CX will give you peace of mind as you will not have to worry about updates/upgrades anymore :)
