Hi All,

I have an install at a client where they have Fanvil X5S phones. 3CX is:

ProductProfessional Annual
Version Number16.0.611
License Expires09/02/2020 8:01:42 AM

The date is actually 2 Sep 2020 (current, active license), rather than 9 Feb 2020 as it shows.

The phones are currently on Firmware Version 1.12.5 and 3CX is saying that they need to be updated (to 1.12.9).

From 3CX Management Console - Phones, when I select the X5S units, and click the '+ Firmware' button at the top, they disappear from the screen (as is normal and expected), and re-appear a minute or two later, but with the same firmware version (1.12.5) having failed to actually update.

If I watch a phone when I do that, I see it rebooting etc, and it comes back up fine, but the phone also reports it is still on 1.12.5.

Can anyone suggest what I can do to get 3CX to update the firmware?

Thanks,

Alan.

The date shown is in US/Intl format. MM/DD/YYYY. So the date is good.

Now, how are the phones provisioned?

Hi,

They were plugged into the LAN, and provisioned from within 3CX by assigning to an extension.

The phones have been on the system for some time, and have always updated fine before using the above method (select them all, and click '+ Firmware'.

Thanks,

Alan.

If you try to update only one instead of all of them at once, does it do anything different?

Also, are you using the latest templates? I know there was an update recently.

Hi,

If I try to run the update on a single phone, that exhibits exactly the same behaviour, and ultimately fails to update.

All updates in 3CX have been run. Under updates it shows:

'Your System Is Up To Date'

Thanks,

Alan.

I only had this problem when the Fanvil's were STUN.

You said they WERE provisioned LAN - Are they still LAN?

Try logging in to a phone GUI and rebooting it and trying again.

Yes - only ever on the LAN, bearing in mind that they have all previously updated firmware in the exact same way with no issues.

I have rebooted one of the phones (from the phone's web interface) and tried again, but no difference. I also power cycled the phone, leaving it unplugged for at least thirty seconds (probably more like a minute), and that makes no difference either.

Thanks,

Alan.
