I'm trying to provision a GXW4104, and cannot get it to fetch the configuration. I'm using cloud 3CX, hosted by 3CX, and the gateway has an internal IP on my network. I've followed all the instructions here https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/grandstream-fxo/#h.epuoqzwd76k9 and checked this one too, https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/gxw4104-grandstream-fxo-gateway-provisioning.67255/, but still cannot make it work.

I think the problem might be with the IP address, as I have an internal IP from my local DHCP. I've tried everything and am stuck. Any advise?

I think you will find this device is not supported on 3CX hosted platform.

Look at the info under Supported Model: Grandstream GXW4104 - https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/grandstream-fxo/#h.epuoqzwd76k9

You may be able to get it to work, if you install a SBC server locally - not sure about this , hopefully someone has the answer

Thanks. I am now downloading the image to install a local instance and continue testing.

I've deployed a local instance, everything went OK, but I still cannot get the Grandstream to pull the configuration. I've followed and verified every single step in the guide, and still, no luck.
Only thing that looks odd on the grandstream is that it does not get the gateway dhcp, it keeps 192... I tried with static IP, but still, no luck getting the configuration.

I'm completely lost.

Any clue or ideas?

Can you screenshot the Upgrade / Provisioning screen

10.10.10.162 is the device IP address ?

Mac address is correct ?

SIP port should be 5060 and not 5062

I had it on 5060, changed to 5062 to test.

Here is the screenshot:

I think I have a defective gateway, as I tried to enable syslog and it does not save. Also, it shows this, which is really odd...

What happens if you factory default the unit and try to provision it again

Same, tried that and no changes

Hello Hernan,

If you cannot get the unit to get a DHCP address on your network there's no point trying to provision it yet. First ensure the networking is healthy.

Are you absolutely sure that you have followed the 3CX guide correctly and connected the cable on the WAN port?

Only thing that looks odd on the grandstream is that it does not get the gateway dhcp, it keeps 192... I tried with static IP, but still, no luck getting the configuration.

I have a feeling you may have connected it on the LAN port because you said are having issues with DHCP, something that would be expected if you connected the LAN instead of WAN port. This is also liable for bringing your entire network down, since you will be introducing a rogue DHCP server.

Thanks John.

It is connected to the WAN port. I do get a valid IP from the DHCP server, and I can access the gateway via the http interface, but it does not get the DNS info from the DHCP server. I have to manually change the DNS server as it keeps 192.168... and my network is 10.10...

It might be some problem with the DNS server, which would prevent it from finding the provisioning server, but the network is definitely working OK, so it might be the gateway that is not able to get the proper DNS server information. Again, I tried setting up the IP manually, and still not working.

If you can, try connecting the device somewhere else (ie. on your modem at home) and see if it will pick up full DHCP details.

At least you will know if the issue is with the device, or with the network (or the combination of the two).

Thanks John. I tried with static IP and still did not work. It looks like it's not saving the information. I've posted it on the Grandstream forums, maybe there are some ideas there.

Make sure you press the "Generate Device Config" button in 3CX as per the guide.

Otherwise there will be no config file for the device to fetch.
