The CRM integration is perfect for us. But this is in my opinion only form 3CX to the CRM.
But we have also an option in our CRM which initiate a call on an extension.

Is there something like: https://my.3cxpbx.com/api/makecall?extension=10&number=+31725068585

I could assume that we need some authentication as well.

I search the forum but it looks like that this is not possible... ;-(

Hi!

Currently there is no HTTP command to initiate a call like the example you said, but if your users use the 3CX Browser Extension, they can use the Click to Call functionality that it offers.

This way, any number in the CRM Web Interface will be parsed and by clicking on it, it would be loaded in the Browser Extension for the user ready to dial.

Thanks for the answer but our software is not webbased. So I need to make a http(s) call or what ever. Is this something on the roadmap?

There is not something I am aware of on the roadmap that would allow this.

Ok, another alternative, if you can format the numbers in your CRM, if you could make the TEL links, then you could also use the 3CX Windows App, and then in Windows associate the "Tel" protocol with the 3CX Windows App, so when the users press on them, it will load the number into the App.

It's a small solutions but we are in the Graphic Business where it's common to have a Mac.
Another thing is that this works with soft clients. The customers uses hard real phones....

3CX announced that they will be releasing a new REST API with 3CX V18. While they have not indicated what will be included in the API, I would be pretty surprised if this is not one of the published APIs.

In the meantime, you may want to take a look at our VoIPTools REST API. We include a few free APIs and MakeCall is available for free. It will do precisely what you are looking to accomplish.

Something you can try is launching the Web Client URL on the agent's PC:
https://my-pbx.example.com:5001/webclient/#/call?phone=1234567890

The user would just need to click call, and the call will start. The Web Client can be configured in CTI mode controlling the desk phone, and this way you can call with your desk phone.

I saw that the web client indeed could configured as te dial platform. That's good. I prefer to stay as close as possible to 3cx so VoipTools is not my first thought. But thanks.
Hopefully v18 is providing us an api.

Hi all. Not sure if related issue, but we run Quickbooks Desktop application.
We are now using the webclient and can use it to dial a phone number from a website successfully.
However we cannot dial a customer or supplier phone number by clicking that number in quickbooks.
It is not even selectable to copy and paste, so suspect related to the issue i have.
Anyone know if there is a specific config either in 3cx or quickbooks that i need to enable to allow 3cx to dial a quickbooks phone number?
TIA
Rob

Are you using the click to call browser extension? This extension works changing any phone number in a web site to a click to call link, but this can only be done when the website exposes the number as plain text. If there is already a link or different behaviour, then 3CX can't change that. Not sure if this is the case....

Hi Ernesto.

Thanks for the reply.

I have installed the 3cx webclient and browser extension to microsoft edge.
then i "enabled the extension".
I can click any website phone number and dial it using the browser extension, which pushes the outgoing call to my desk phone.

Have seen reference to, but am not sure if Click to call is a separate function?

But our quickbooks is the desktop version, not a website and i suspect there is the limitation.
I know that TAPI is some form of interface but don't know if/what connectivity Quickbooks desktop supports.
Perhaps not compatible.

Thx
