My friend have 3cx standard working good with 100 IP Phones auto provisioned but he bought a pro edition with another account (new license) , he need to install 3cx with the same FQDN in a new machine (local) .

so he must
1.unlink FQDN from the first one and backup without license and FQDN !!!!

2.then install the new one with the same FQDN and restore backup !!!!!

what about ipphones should he make a provisioning again or it will work automatically?

Why have you purchased a new license, you could have upgraded the existing license.

If you want the same FQDN with the new license.

1. Backup the existing server without fqdn and license key.
2. Switch off the existing server.
3. Unlink the fqdn from the customer portal (not partner portal)
4. Install 3CX, using the backup taken from step 1.

On the iphones, are they provisioned using the 3CX server address or fqdn (if you have setup fqdn to point to the 3CX server).

If fqdn you have to do nothing, except point the fqdn to the new 3cx server ip address.

If the 3CX server IP address is staying the same, again nothing to do.

if 3CX server ip address is changing I would change the settings under provisioning -> IP Phone -> select interface to use fqdn (after setting up the fqdn to point to the 3CX server) . This way you will not have to reprovision the phones

More help on setting up spilt dns https://www.3cx.com/docs/creating-fqdn-split-dns/ , or you maybe able to setup a dns entry on your router to point the fqdn to the 3CX server.

No need to complicate guys, just replace the license in Settings > License and it will associate the FQDN to the new license. That's all.

If you are more of a visual learner:
