Hi,
Recently purchased a track from Pond5 for our hold music. (Soft Easy Listening 10 Minute: Phone On Hold), used audacity as per the instructions to mix is down from stereo to mono, changed it to 8kHz and saved it out as 16 bit wav. All sounds good on my PC, can hardly tell the difference from the original - also dropped the volume a touch.
However, I have uploaded it to 3CX and when listening to it via my phone app, it has a sort of buzzing distorted sound so it, almost like a speaker being ramped up in volume beyond it's max - which it isn't as you couldn't have it any quieter or it wouldn't' be heard. We have all the latest updates and firmware. Codec for the SIP is PMCA, Supports Re-invite and Replaces is turned off. Could it be i need to equalise the track? are there frequencies in there that 8kHz doesn't like? if so how do I go about that?
Any thoughts as to why this is? as I said sounds perfect on my PC.
