I like to post this every couple years.

As someone that manages PBXs (3CX) for customers it would be useful to be able to review the historical track for the number of Simultaneous Calls. This would enable us to anticipate the need to upgrade a license (and generate revenue for 3CX and us) and avoid problems for the customer.

Can someone please explain to me how, for a system that is licensed and sold based on the Maximum Number of Simultaneous Calls, it is basically impossible to review HISTORY of Numbers of Simultaneous Calls.

I know the dashboard gives a snapshot of the number of calls active NOW and this does have some use at the MOMENT, but it is not a solution for this need.

I know there is an email alert to tell when the customer has attempted to exceed their license. This does not give the customer a good experience when calls are blocked.

If you agree please vote Yes and vote Often.

Regards,
Allen

Has anyone verified this spreadsheet lately? I'm trying to pull the number of Sim Calls, as we are looking at acquiring new facilites.

I have 128 license, and following this spreadsheet, it gave me 100 Max sim calls. However, if I look at the time frame, from the call report, there are not 100 Sim Calls during this time.

2 people are on a call for almost 2 hours. The report appears to be calculating all calls during this time (where all other calls are less than 5 minutes in duration).

Ideally 3CX would have a simple report to show active calls for every minute.

I definitely need this, and it would drive 3CX upgrades. I'm waiting to do upgrades until I get some number of failed call emails due to license limit. ie, a customer might be ok with 1 call a month getting a busy signal, another might have an issue. Just waiting for those emails means callers will get busy signals.

So many businesses just aren't willing to 'buy the bigger size just in case'. I do a lot of 4 channel systems, probably a few of those should be 8 channels but I have nothing to prove this at hand without doing the calculations myself

The spreadsheet above works, I'm doing it in sql with a big fat Cartesian join to try to automate it a little bit.

If only I followed directions.

I thought I originally did the "sort" at step #9, but I noticed that my A column wasn't sorted.

That dropped my max sim. calls from 100 to 12.

+1 It will help us sell license upgrades!

+1 Yes, please, this is a very important value in reports!

+1 for me, we need this to plan a future license plan for our customers.
In the meantime the Excel file seems to do the trick.

I got asked for this information only yesterday. Would really value this report.

I'm not concerned with 'overpurchasing' my license, I'm concerned with underpurchasing and customers getting busy signals.

agreed we need this

+1 would be very useful to advise on licence upgrade

+ 1 Pretty please!

I would also like to see this reporting feature. I have a monitor with each PBX I'm charged with showing its 3CX interface specifically for the reason of figuring out my average & max SIM call usage per location. I have to know this information to see what license to purchase and use. I'm also interested in swapping our conferencing system to 3CX but as this will use many SIM slots, I currently have no numbers to help make preparations for larger licenses and therefore resort to the silly method you see in the picture.

Some customers ask us when to upgrade the license.
tks

Features like this should be a standard thing in the system itself without relying on manual data fiddling.
