Hi,
This(like the image below) is what I'm getting during calls from one extension to another extension. After every 5/6 seconds, there is no audio for a couple of seconds. Though irrelevant information but this is the actual recording using Audacity keeping the desktop 3CX app microphone mute and playing music in front of the other extension on Fanvil X7A extension which is provisioned. Both the extension is in the local network. It is happening for both local calls (I've tested every combination of all 3 extensions I have) and outbound/inbound calls. And this started in the last 9/10 days.
Can anyone tell me what could be the issue?
Thanks in advance.

Environment:
3CX installed on Raspberry Pi 4B
Extensions are provisioned locally on Windows 10, Fanvil X7A,
3CX version 18.0.237 (Standard Annual)

Hi!

Have you tried rebooting the 3CX Server (Raspberry Pi) and possibly even the switches?
That would be the first thing I would suggest.

Also to eliminate as many factors as possible, I would dial from your X7A to *777 (echo test extension) and start counting up to check if the issue happens like that as well.

Thanks for your reply. The first thing I did was test the ping to X7A from the Pi and found no issue. Then also rebooted the Pi and the X7A Phones not to say also the Computer.

I just tested dialing to *777 and got the same issue.

Good, then the next step would be to start a packet capture on the 3CX Server, then start a call to *777 again to replicate.

This is quite easy to do:
  1. From the Dashboard --> Activity Log, press the "Capture" button
  2. Make a call from your X7A to *777 and start counting until the issue happens.
  3. Stop the Capture.
  4. Download the capture file and open with Wireshark and from here you can see and hear the audio streams, much like you did in Audacity

In Wireshark though you will see 2 audio streams, 1x from the Phone to the 3CX Server and 1x from the 3CX Server to the Phone.

Does the Stream from the phone to the 3CX Server also have gaps?

Hi @NickD_3CX,
I've downloaded the captured file. I've opened it with Wireshark. But how to hear the audio stream?
