Solved Not all mailboxes visible in Sync Microsoft 365 Shared Mailbox Contacts with 3CX Company Phonebook setting

Hi!,

I'm trying to set up a sync between my Office 365 shared mailbox contacts and the 3cx company phonebook. I have an m365 tenant set up correctly under 3cx integration. When I open the mailbox chooser to setup the sync it sees a lot of mailboxes (both regular and shared mailboxes). But it doesn't see all the mailboxes, including the one I need to use. There seems to be no apparent reason for this. There seem to be no differences between the mailboxes that show and the ones that don't show.

I've converted my mailbox back to regular and then back to shared but it doesn't make a difference. Neither does making a new mailbox. The sync status between 3cx and the 365 tenant is reported to be OK. I have absolutely no clue why my mailbox isn't showing.

To add to the above; the mailbox i'm looking for is showing up perfectly fine as an option under calendar sync. So how come it's not showing up in the contact sync?

The mailboxes you don't see on the list are the ones you converted from regular (licensed) mailboxes?
And are you trying to sync shared address book?
Just to be sure if it's the same situation.

I think it would be usefull if 3CX tell us the detail of the API request used to retrive shared mailboxes to understand the reason of the exclusion.

Just to add further details:
I can see the shared mailbox converted from "regular" in the "user syc" tab (and I souldn't).
Could it be some cached information in 3CX database? I've enabled M365 integration before shared mailbox conversion.

I solved the problem removing first and last name from shared mailbox attributes leaving only "Display Name" field populated.

Hi all,

Currently Microsoft Graph API does not provide a straightforward way for us to detect which mailboxes are shared unless we query each and every user, with a large overhead penalty (versus the API fetching the results for us in a single query).

Until Microsoft addresses this in a better way, AD users that do not have First/Last Name are considered as "shared mailbox" in 3CX.
