We are on our 2nd Polycom IP 7000 conference phone on our 3CX system. It is provisioned using the 3CX instructions provided on their website and works without issue. My question has to do with the supported firmware via 3CX and the available firmware from Polycom. Our first IP 7000 conference phone eventually stopped functioning due to an issue with the firmware 4.0.10. When the power goes out, the phone reboots and has to "fix" the operating system. From what we experienced and what I read from other user's experiences, at this firmware level, eventually, this "fix" function will stop working. Since we have already experienced this once and Polycom's recommendation is to upgrade to the new firmware, I am wondering if anyone else is running the most current firmware for the IP 7000 (as opposed to the 3CX supported firmware)?

Hi Scott,

These devices are supported as "legacy phone support" so we will not be updating or supporting newer versions of firmware. The goal of supporting legacy devices is to allow easy migration from an existing phone system to 3CX without the need to directly replace all existing IP phones.

It may work with newer firmware but it has not been tested by us and is not supported beyond 4.0.10

Below are some supported models that may interest you when it comes time to replace existing ones:

Thanks @JohnS_3CX for the insight. I assumed as much regarding support, however, our company has purchased the IP 7000 phone, so need to perform due diligence to ensure it works properly for years to come to protect this investment.

I'm not certain if anyone in the community has gone beyond the support firmware level, however, I am thinking this is what needs to be done to prevent the future bricking of our new IP 7000 when it reboots with the 3CX supported firmware. I understand what I need to do for provisioning the newer firmware (provided I can get the files in the same manner form Polycom), however, wanted to find out if anyone else had done this yet?

Thank you!
