Renewal of SSL Certificates on AWS

I am trying to replace SSL certificates on AWS, however I am getting a permissions error. I am logging in as ec2-user and using the key file. I can see the user group is phonesystem but I am unsure of how to login as phonesystem to get the correct permissions to delete and upload the new CRT file.


Please could someone help?

First elevate using sudo su
Then switch to su phonesystem
Then type whoami to confirm

I have now done those commands, and I ran whoami and I am the phonesystem.

How would I login as phonesystem on FileZilla/FTP so I can drag the new SSLs over?

You can't, login as root, after files have been uploaded, change owner and group to phonesystem by using chown command, reference page here https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/how-to-use-chmod-and-chown-command/
