I agree with the Bandwidth as an SMS carrier. We currently use them for all our inbound and are cheaper than Flowroute and Telnyx (for our level of usage anyways). It would be nice to just activate SMS on the numbers where they are rather than porting to a different carrier, if the customer wants to implement SMS.

You can checkout Hosted SMS by Telnyx for number that's might not have it.

@RadDadIT Were you able to get your Flowroute numbers working? We resolved our issue with the SSL checker by merging the cert, the intermediate and the root all into one .PEM file. We then copied that to C:\Program Files\3CX Phone System\Bin\nginx\conf\instance1. Once we did that and made sure the number in the Route section was in e.164 format (+1xxxxxxxxxx), our inbound started working.

So does this support initiating an SMS with a customer? Or does the customer have to send an SMS to the DID, first?

I review change log of this Alpha update and want to ask support team regarding some question :

As i understand in update we get Facebook chat integration , how it will be worked ? Messages in Facebook Chat can be received by 3CX chat system ( personal ext. chat ) ?

SMS text messaging , worked with specific SMS providers or provider can be configuration manually ?

If it possible could you add a new call report ( with phone numbers ) by specific selected trunk ?

I doesn't yet installed this Alpha on Prod system and want to ask team when you plan to make a release of that update . Because of update include very useful features.

Numbers are in the format of 1xxxxxxxxxx not +1xxxxxxxxxx as they do not work inbound or outbound when adding the + but work outbound when not using the +. Also, instructions state to copy the number from the Flowroute DID which is 1xxxxxxxxxx.
Have double and triple checked the webhook. It matches identically (as I copy/pasted it) but also confirmed manually that it matches.
HTTPS port is default 5001 and is publicly accessible to the internet.

The instructions state to ensure its in E164 so +123456789

All attempts of my team did get in touch with them remained unanswered...
And I can tell you we did many!

After you have sent some messages you can change the messaging profile in Telnyx from A2P to P2P, it seems that the number needs to be warmed up. More information you can get from Telnyx support. Yes, mainly US numbers will allow you P2P messaging for the time being.

In this new update I see it's possible to amend the group chat name but still no ability to add users to a group chat.

Will the ability to send new SMS come?

You can already send new SMS. Click the + and use the first button. On the right panel, notice it will say "enter a phone number" instead of "an extension or name".

There are 3 buttons when you click +: new chat, new group chat, new sms. From bottom to top. Use the first one at the top. If you only see 2, your extension has not been enabled for SMS (Console > Extension > Enable SMS (bottom of the main tab).

ahh perfect, thats the one.

I must have missed that when I was reading the guides o_O

They just need to add the ability to make contact groups and that SMS is gonna be a game changer.

I have everything configured with Telnyx and am able to send SMS messages fine. Works Great!

No SMS messages are coming in to 3CX. I see a few comments here about having "HTTPS port is default 5001 and is publicly accessible to the internet." The 3CX instance is on 443, which is a valid configuration.

If this is the issue, will 443 be supported or will we be forced to reconfigure to 5001?
