Has anyone figured out how to apply physical phones to emergency dialing with Hotdesking?
My client has many locations with employees that 'float' location to location. If I setup 911 per user the associated DID no matter in the user CID or overridden in the settings will never properly match the users address/location except one. The only viable means I see is adding multiple extensions per user corresponding to the location they are at with a different DID to correctly associate the address they are at. My client will NEVER go for that. As a workaround for now I have assigned 91101, 91102, 91103, and so on as extensions to call out using a per location CID. This is not optimal and they have warning signs posted at each phones of the emergency numbers to use. I also have a generic failsafe if they dial the 911 only at the bottom of the outbound rule list.
Has anyone figured this out or am I missing something? The Hotdesking should have a physical phone HD00000 GROUPS area that 911 emergency calling can use. The Group name would tie physical phones to the locations they are at. When a user logs in or not, the Group would allow a emergency dialing rule in settings to apply the CID that translates the physical address. If the Hotdesking phone is not logged in and someone dials the emergency number, I hear it will complete the call but with what CID? Where does it get this information?
Thoughts before I post to the Ideas area?
