Solved Windows 3CX SBC "an error occured while attempting to create the directory"

Windows 3CX SBC "an error occured while attempting to create the directory". This was with running the installer with and without Administrator rights!

Anyone have any idea what this is, Windows Defender is not blocking this and both V16 and V18 are both displaying this behavior.

Hi @chance-wmt,

This appears to be a Windows problem not a 3CX problem. I've done a simple google search for the error message and have found that this occurs for many programs (Skype, VMWare etc) if insufficient privileges are set. The multiple articles I've checked do include a few things to try to resolve the issue.

Did you try right clicking > Run as admin?

As mentioned above, yes.

Try another profile.
Try running it from C:\
If its a domain profile, log in as a local user.
Failing that, I suggest you download procmon from sysinternals and see what its hanging on

Fixed, wierd Windows 10 permissions issue... Odd.
