Hello, I am new to 3CX and have an onsite server and yealink phones. T46S and T48S. The phones will not work with forwarding from the phone. If I add a key to the phone using the DSSKEY, pick a line and then add a forward to the cell number etc it does not work.

Any suggestions? This is very basic and the server works with Grandstream phones properly. We do not use the auto-provisioning of these phones...

Thanks

As a note, I read a lot of the forums about an option Feature_key_sync but cannot find it anywhere in the GUI of the T46S or T48S phones.

Yealink are not usable for transfert, if i'm not wrong problem is coming about way yealink try to do this (not sure if it is sip 302 call diversion / deflection)

I have tested a custom template and provisioned one phone with one line change and forwarding works properly.. in the template change : bw.feature_key_sync = 1 to 0

not sure why 3cx has the default value set to one on these phones.. I cannot find a way to manually change the setting in the GUI of the phones on the T46S and T48S. I hate having the phones auto-reprovision so I do not have the phones do it.. everyone has different BLF and auto-provision wrecks those settings on each phone.

#Enable or disable the feature key synchronization; 0-Disabled (default), 1-Enabled;
bw.feature_key_sync = 0

Anyone know of the spot on the yealink T46S or T48S phone to manually make this change in the GUI? I have a ticket in with yealink, maybe I am just missing it.. but thought I would tell everyone my experience with these phones and 3CX.

Hi @techsuppportpdx

The 3CX system is designed around the concept that forwarding will be done via Statuses. This means that the PBX server does the forwarding instead of your deskphone, and the forwards will be more reliable because they do not rely on your deskphone. You can also perform your forwards when you are away from the office using the mobile client, desktop client, or web client

If you force the devices to perform forwards, it breaks the intended functionality and can potentially cause problems (not in all cases, but still not recommended). You will also find it more difficult to troubleshoot if an extension does not ring on the phone. you can learn more below:

I understand what you are saying but in many businesses they use other communication methods to chat and talk without the presence feature in the phone system. Many business clients use slack or other communication methods. Having a button on the phone to hit as you are walking away to forward your phone is pretty basic. The question was, can the yealink phones change this via the web gui or any easy way to make this work for this client via the 3cx phone system.

Answer: Yealink phone model T46s and T48s do not have the ability to change this option via the web interface. It seems you must create a custom template and send/provision it to the phones changing this option from 1 to 0. I do not allow the phones to re-provision every day. Since this is a site with about 30 phones it has been very easy to manage without this and I do not like the way that 3cx pushes dsskey to phones, not to mention they have the pro version and to add a custom logo/background provisioned they need to spend hundreds more on the enterprise version. I was just trying to find a solution that allows them to hit a button on the phone that forwards to another office, extension, cell etc. So, I am re-provisioning with the new template (changing the 1 to 0), then re-setting up the phone how I like them and removing the auto-provision link in the phones. This works for this company as they use slack and zoom across their company and external customers for chatting and communication/meetings.

If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know. But this seems to be the easiest way to add a forward button to the phones for easy user management when they are away from desk. - hit a button that forwards to another user or cell.

Hello,

I can suggest something that works with default templates:

  1. Change DND Status of extension for internal/external calls to show Forward to Mobile
  2. Use DND button on phone whenever you leave/return to your desk

Hi,
as others said, only proper way from 3CX is to use status and BLF to change status (or DND build-in button). Problem is how to do it if you want options to forward to differents phones as you only have 2 custom status then you are limited. If you use DND then you cant use this DND for normal schedule time behavior wich can be an issue too.
There is no good option here and its due to 3CX view on this subject, it make things complex for customer, sometimes you dont have choice but to explain how status works to users who just dant want to understand this. its something that many requested but sadly its not in 3CX plan for future. They only look at application and webclient, for them phones are old device whi should disappear soon. This can be understandable for up-to-date companies or for the future but its really a pain for current customers and it deserve 3CX a lot...
