How to Configure Yealink T5 Series
Yealink T53, T53C/W, T54W, T57W, T58A/V/W models

Router Phone - A Router Phone or an SBC is required to bundle all SIP traffic over a single TCP port and direct the signalling to the IP Phones. At least one Router Phone is required if your 3CX System is in the cloud or its remote phone connected to an on premise system. - Upgrade its firmware to the latest 3CX supported version. - Yealink T52S, T54S, T56A, and T58A/V are marked as EOL by the vendor.

About the Yealink T5 Series Models
Yealink T5 business phones are equipped with an adjustable high-resolution display and LED indicators, Android 9.0 OS to improve the data encryption, authority management and more. It includes built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Each phone can be connected to 4 cordless handsets with the capability of switching calls between the desktop phone and the cordless DECT handset.
- T58W (Pro): Features a Bluetooth handset allowing the user to move around freely. With a vivid 7-inch touchable and adjustable color screen, five-megapixel camera and multiway audio/video conferencing. Costs in the region of $250.
- T57W (Router Phone): Prime business phone for executives and busy managers with a heavy call load. Equipped with a 7” screen, 29 touch keys and 16 SIP accounts. Costs in the region of $180.
- T54W (Router Phone): Mid-level phone, ideal for professionals and managers with moderate call load. Equipped with a 4.3” screen, 10 line-keys, 16 SIP accounts and 27 memory keys. Costs in the region of $130.
- T53W (Router Phone): Entry-level phone, well suited for the common workspace. Equipped with a 3.7” screen, 8 line-keys, 12 SIP accounts and 21 memory keys. Costs in the region of $100.
Step 1: Identify your Exact Yealink T5 Phone Model and MAC Address
Be sure you follow the steps for the right phone model. You can find the model and MAC address on the label at the back of the handset, or by pressing the “Menu or OK > Status” on the phone.
Take a note of the MAC address, you will need this for the configuration. Find out more about your IP Phone MAC address.
Step 2: Add The Yealink T5 Phone to the Extension
From the Admin Console in your Web Client:
- Go to “Users” and select the user you want to add a phone for.
- Click on the “IP Phone” tab. Click “Configure a phone” to add a phone.
- Now select your phone model from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the phone’s MAC address without dashes or colons, and click “Add phone”.
Step 3: Router Phone, SBC or LAN?
- If 3CX is on the cloud, you must use a router phone or SBC:
- If it is not a router phone you need to specify one or an SBC.
- If the device is a router phone, you can connect it directly as a router itself.
- If 3CX is on premise or self hosted, you have an additional option, you can select “Local LAN/VPN”.
- Click “Add Phone” to save the phone configuration for this extension.
Step 4: Connect the Phone
3CX will now create provisioning information for the phone and make these available on the provisioning URL. The phone must connect to this URL to retrieve its configuration information and authentication details. You have the following options:
- RPS - Connect the phone to the network within 14 days. If it is already connected, restart it. The phone will be configured automatically and restarted.
- PNP - If 3CX is on premise or connected via SBC, you can connect the phone to the LAN and look for it in the PNP dialog (Admin Console > Phones > PNP Phones). Right click and assign it to the extension you configured above.
- Alternatively, you can login to the phone's webUI and enter the URL manually. You can also use DHCP option 66.
