Downgrade Option Upon Renewal

For our existing customers, we’re committed to ensuring you always have the right product for your needs. We will introduce the possibility for you to downgrade to the Basic Edition upon license renewal if you find that its comprehensive feature set is sufficient for your organization.

Further details on the Basic Edition and its baby brother in the form of the FREE 4SC variant will be made available soon with the launch of Update 8. Partner points for the 3CX Basic Edition will be awarded just like other 3CX editions.

The Future of SMB Free

With the advent of 3CX Basic Edition we will begin scaling back 3CX SMB Free. At the same time, we see an opportunity to further assist Partners with the Multi-tenant solution. It’s anticipated that if a customer wants a license with IP phones, they will be guided to select a partner in a newly created partner directory limited to those partners with a PRO or Ent/AI multi-tenant. We anticipate these changes will take place not before Q2 2026. Watch this space for more details.
