Earlier this week, we extended our free license offer to schools and colleges. The free education license, which falls under the PRO edition of 3CX’s communications solution, includes up to 100 web conferencing participants completely free, for one year.

In this post, we will explore how our PRO solution can be used to support parents with the transition to homeschooling. If you're looking for guidance on setting up 3CX as a virtual classroom, check out the first part in this series here!
Keeping Parents Informed
It’s understandable that parents might be worried about their child’s new school environment. Some may even be homeschooling the kids whilst also juggling their own challenging work schedule! Discuss the following applications of 3CX features with your education customers, so they can keep parents well informed and feeling confident:

- Staff can use our Web Meeting feature to hold 1-1 meetings or parents evenings. You could also enable each teachers’ personal Click2meet link so that parents can join ad hoc video meetings and get their homeschooling questions answered!
- Then, highlight the benefits of adding live chat to the schools website. Livechat is the quickest and easiest way for parents to get in touch and can be used to ask questions, check opening hours or conduct virtual office hours.
- Discuss how our call flow designer can be used to filter incoming calls and take pressure off administrative staff. For example, you could enable tuition over the phone or use the CFD to verify a parent’s details and instantly connect them to the member of staff responsible for their child.
Planning Ahead
Let’s not forget Teachers are also in need of support whilst adapting to homeschooling. We’re in uncharted territory and they’re steering a hefty old ship! Connecting teaching staff with parents, supporting one another and sharing ideas is vital in maintaining a positive morale. Show teachers how to:
- Use our internal messaging feature to share pdfs, presentations and the odd meme or two!
- Set up 3CX on their mobile. With a 3CX mobile app, they’ll be able to chat, jump into conferences and call using their extension wherever they are. This is especially useful for those still heading to school. Even if lessons are off, remember that school doors are still open for vulnerable students and staff need to be contactable at all times.
Adapting to these new ways of learning creates challenges that are new to both parents and teachers. If you or your customers have any questions about using 3CX to homeschool, then please get in touch. Our Channel Managers are always happy to advise and you can also post on the 3CX forum, to get advice from our active partner community.
