Today one of our secretaries discovered, by accident, that you can transfer a call directly to a queue's voicemail. We replicated this instance in a test and found that the caller is prompted to leave a voicemail as normal. That voicemail is then sent in an email to all the queue managers as a recorded attachment.
Is there a way to disable the ability to forward a call directly to a queue voicemail?

Well your subject says forwarded but then you said the receptionist transferred calls. Either way, the queue shouldn't have voicemail so it's clearly an oversight on 3CX's part. No way to disable short of going into the database. Maybe this can get fixed in SP3. Either queue's shouldn't have voicemail at all (nor be a valid destination) or they should and that needs to be exposed via a tab on the queue extension settings. I'm voting for the latter since I can see a use for that.

Good catch!

@YiannisH_3CX @JohnS_3CX Can you guys replicate/comment?

Hi @cobaltit

I should be able to transfer a call to a ring group or queue's voicemail (group voicemail feature) via say webclient or via *4{group_ext}

A bit confused as to why you thought this was an oversight, it's actually a feature :)

@redbudindustries

This cannot be disabled, its part of the Group Voicemail feature https://www.3cx.com/docs/group-voicemail/
Thanks for the response.
I could see where this feature would be handy under normal circumstances. Being able to transfer directly to this is not a good thing for us. I have seen several other posts with interest in similar options, are there any plans to make this feature more customization?

Simply tell your employees that they are not to do it. You actually have some control over them in this regard . If it was discovered by "accident", then it probably wasn't something happening all the time, and may not be an issue with all employees.

True its not a common event. Management was hoping that there was a way to ensure it doesn't become an issue.

Hmmm.. Was this a recent change or have I simply ignored that aspect for years... :rolleyes:
