Does anyone know why when I set a IVR to transfer to a ring group after 10 seconds I can only receive one inbound call at a time. The second caller gets sent straight to voicemail rather than to the ring group.. and I have all extensions set to "receive multiple calls".

Change the ring group to a queue and it will work.

If your ring group is calling the extensions, and another call comes in to the ring group as the phone are ringing it will go to voicemail

‘Receive multiply calls’ are ignored by ring groups.

Hello @Regis_Technologies_USA

As mentioned the option receive multiple calls does not apply for Ring Groups or Queues. The different between Ring Groups and Queues however is that a queue can answer the call and keep it until an agent is available.

Yes I would love to be able to use a call que in this case how ever that is not possible as different users will be using the phones and they may forget to log into the que. Is there a way to keep sip phones by default always logged into the que.?

While Receive Multiple Calls does not apply to a Ring Group, it does to an extension, however, an extension can only forward to one destination . If you could add additional destinations, if the first (internal) one were busy, you could create a second Ring Group containing the same members, and send calls off to that. Other than something like that, I'm not certain of how you would get call to go to the second ring group automatically if the first were busy.

It sounds as if you need to submit a feature suggestion in the Ideas forum, either allowing Ring Groups to accept more than one call (when currently ringing), or more flexible forwarding options on extensions.

You can have extensions auto log in based on status and office hours. That way you can ensure that extensions are logged in to the queues. As IP phones do not have "Q" button users can only log out using the dial codes which you can change so they will not be able to do that.

Than you for your reply! Once I set the global office hours where is the option to automatically have a user extension log into the QUE during global office hours?

Thanks,

Nigel

The extensions will log in /log out based on the status they are in. If you navigate to an extensions settings / Forwarding rules you will see the option "Log Out from Queues". When that is enabled the extension in that status will log out from Queues. If you switch the extension to a status where this option is not enabled the extension will log in to queues.
You will need to enable the Auto Switch function under the extensions settings.
