Hi,

I'm new to 3cx, but it seem to be pretty brilliant.
I have run into one strange issue while trying to get phones to provision.

We have Cisco SPA504G phones, and the guides say to set the provision URL in the phone to:
http://192.168.5.1:5000/provisioning/$MA.xml

which doesn't work, on investigation in IIS, i found that the provisioning files are actually located at:
http://192.168.5.1:5000/provisioning/wccq2mgy2t/$MA.xml

Only by forcing a re-provision to that address can I get the phone to provision. The phone then has http://192.168.5.1:5000/provisioning/$MA.xml as its provisioning URL, so it wont auto provision again.

Surely something is wrong as non of the manuals mention a subfolder or the provisioning URL

Thanks for your help!

EDIT: running 3CX Free, looking to upgrade to a paid version very soon, and its version 12.0.31763.282

You failed to mention which version you are running. Version 12 is still being "tweaked", Version 11 has been out for a while.

thanks Leejor, its 12.0.31763.282

Am I best to stick with 11 for the moment?

Yes on version 11!

I believe that version 12 is still in Beta, with a number of updates/fixes/additions still to come.

That random-looking folder name is indeed random to your own install.. added in v12 to prevent brute-force attacking your web interface for access. It "secures" the provisioning folder, which would be an issue when exposed to the outside world otherwise.

Thanks guys, sounds like I am best to downgrade to version 11.

I guess all the provisioning templates for version 12 need to be updated to support the random folder name.
