The only way to Create a Router Phone today is to use the Web Client. That is OK...however, if you use the Web Client to Create the Router phone at the same time that you are creating the Extension itself, there is no option to change the Extension Number you are creating, it simply takes the first available user extension in the system.
The only way to work around this is to create the extension in the Management Console FIRST, then use the Web Client to Create the Router Phone and assign it to the existing extension.
Ideally, you could create an extension in the Web Client, choose the extension number, then create/add the Router Phone.
