Great work 3CX Team, Thanks and keep it up!

@Nick Galea will a shared office space (business parks) license/installation be available in the future, segregating the phonebook, MOH, Receptionist live call view and CRM integration. Currently we disable the phonebook on these types of installs but it would be nice to offer it
This would mean the system is multi-tenant, which it is not.

@Frederick Marcoux Correct, that's why I'm asking if there are plans to implment a solution for a massive ever growing market here in the UK

@Frederick Marcoux Wasn't that use of the term 'multi-tenant' in relation to how it was hosted back in V14 and before?

https://www.3cx.com/blog/news/cloud-ready-pbx-multi-tenant/

I can see a valid business case for have multiple businesses with a shared reception area in a business park all on one system but benefiting from features like choosing their own hold music and having a subset of the company phone book only available to them.

I can see why 3CX are hesitant to introduce this as it opens them up to license miss use, you could create one PBX in the cloud with a massive SC license but maybe 3CX could govern this by verifying the business park/centre and not allowing for cloud instances etc

@kent3

Agreed, although the very situation you describe I would consider to be an opportunity to on-board very small companies that only require a replacement for a single landline, and then hopefully as they grow they will need their own install and the benefits of more control over the system as a whole. But I do also see you point of view.

I do also prefer selling more small licenses that can be upgraded instead of 1 big.

Or I can install 60+ Raspberry Pi's in their server rack :oops:

@Frederick Marcoux

But in shared space / business park style work space you may use the services of call answering by the reception team etc. I'm thinking this is where some extra control over things like phone book maybe useful without loosing the benefit of all being on one system

Exactly my point

I am in no way trying to bash 3CX, I love their software and attention to detail, I would just like to find a solution to a problem.

Do you know what 3CX really needs? An updated and documented API for developers.

Thank you again for all the feedback. All feature requests should still go via the ideas forum please. As you can see the top features that are feasible and well explained are considered. To answer some of your questions:

  1. Polycom - yes it would but it depends on Polycom releasing a proper tested firmware for 3CX. Ball is completely in their court. From our side we are ready to go.
  2. Phonebook improvements - yes something we are considering.
  3. No plans to connect to Microsoft Teams. Teams is not that open and anyway wants to be a phone system in its next life. We did consider being a simple trunk in teams but it was rejected by Microsoft because they want to be the phone system themselves.

Hi at all,

for Teams integration another way could be to create a 3CX Softphone APP for Teams that is available in Teams App store. Everyone can develop apps for Teams.
I tried to add the webclient as a tab to teams but the build in browser is not compatible with the WebRTC softphone. I think it's the old edge. If they replace them to new edge it could work.

I want to echo that, this is for us the most important missing feature to add our own needed solutions to 3cx. A web based API to change 3cx settings would be ideal and shouldn't be too complicated for 3cx to develop as their user interface is based on a web interface.

Support for SFTP and backup to Google Cloud sounds good, but I hope they add AWS and Azure storage as the "more used clouds". Google Cloud has a lot fewer users. We use Azure and Aws, but never Google Cloud at our company.

Also a visual easy to use call flow designer within the web interface with permanent variables between flows would be great. If there was a web API we would developed it as an add on ourselves with just updating the code when saving. Right now 3CX is blocking third party developers to create a community of addons.

I hope 3CX keeps improving on these critical basic features and possible if an update breaks call flows or other features that they themselves block auto updates. Possible an option to only install minor and security updates instead of all updates. (we disabled auto update on all of our installations).

Beside that, 3CX is one of the best easy to use telephone systems on the market, so they are doing a great job.

Please add multiple phonebooks you guys.
Further more, keep up the goood work.

Hi ,
Congratulations, very nice job is done release after release, even if sometime i'd like a little break in new features dev, and dev team focusing on improvment of already existing ones, lots of small things could be done in console for example , what we said in this post is not exhaustive
https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/wishes-for-more-friendly-3cx-console.66827/post-287567

Time to time cleaning the dust under the carpet is a pretty good idea and when done, you are generally happy to rediscover something like it was completly new.

Its coming soon! We are putting final touches

@GaSo, ts9556 - We have good APIs for the most needed integrations. The most obvious integration is with CRM / Helpdesk for call logging / caller ID matching etc. We have a created API there with a template generator thats super easy to use. We have a CFD which allows you to do almost anything and a lot of it visually. So you can create 99% of the custom apps that you need with 3CX. Easily and fully inline with its architecture.

3CX is far more superior than many big-name VoIP solutions. In fact, I cannot find anything that can win 3CX. But there is a nagging issue, it is the 7 days unregistered issue for mobile app users. After a long holiday, I can see hundreds of my colleagues are not registered. Please let us have the option to change the days or disable it.

You can see the threads here:
