Following through on security plans and Partner & customer offers as dedicated Forum and free support winds down.

One of our Partners ‘Sparky Bear’ shared an analogy from the aviation industry in the Forum that we thought summed up the past few weeks perfectly. Here it is. If an aircraft has an issue, the order of operations is as follows: First aviate - fly the plane/steer the ship, get it under control! Second, navigate - figure out where you are and where you need to go to traverse the issue safely. Finally, communicate - let others know you’re working on the issue and that it’s under control. As we navigate forward, here’s what’s happening next. There’s also further details regarding our promised offers. Read on to find out how they’ll work in practice.

Launch of 'EFTA' Security Charter

Our focus is now set on implementing the 7 Step Security Action Plan which we laid out last week following the results of the Mandiant investigation that determined the initial intrusion vector. As outlined, we’ll be working over the next months to harden multiple layers of our network security by implementing the remediation plan recommendations provided by Mandiant. We’re revamping build security to ensure the integrity of software made available on our downloads server. We’ve committed to an ongoing product security review with Mandiant to scrutinize every aspect of our product. We’ve also committed to improving and enhancing our product security features released Update 7A. We’re entering into an agreement with an established pen testing company to perform ongoing pen testing of our network and our online web applications. We’re formalizing a crisis management and alert handling plan to build upon the lessons learned. And last - but by no means least - we’re in the process of recruiting more expertise to fortify our newly established department for Network Operations & Security. There’s much to be done. We’ll continue to report back on our progress in the months to follow.

End to Dedicated Help Forum & Free Support Tickets

In the midst of the attack, we set up a dedicated help forum for all users so we could answer as many questions as possible. We also offered 3 free support tickets for all users. This proved extremely useful and has served its purpose well. However, as the investigation has been completed and the findings published, it’s now appropriate to close the Forum off for new topics/posts and wind down the free support option. The Forum will be moved at the end of this month as a sub-category of the Integration / Other Forum. The 3 free support tickets will also stop being available on 28th April 2023.
