The latest official release of our Android app is now available for update and download from the Google Play Store. Google Assistant support has been baked in alongside new chat features and Bluetooth audio device improvements.

OK Google! Call using 3CX

Google Assistant - Calling by number

Using Google Assistant to make calls via 3CX is easy. For example, simply say “OK Google, call 101 using 3CX”. Calling a contact from your directory by name is also possible. If there is only one contact found, the call is initiated immediately. If a contact has more than one number, the 3CX app will open the contact card for you to choose which number is called.

To make sure you are set up, you must enable the Google Assistant, and set both the device and Google assistant region to “English (US)”.

Chat management, previews, and forwarding

Preview Images sent via chat on Android App

This latest release brings many improvements to the chat functions and features.

  • Incoming images can now be viewed in the notification panel.
  • Forwarding of messages and attachments has been simplified with a new ‘Forward’ button. Once a user long-presses on any content, the button is displayed allowing the messages to be sent to other extensions or groups.
  • Chat group participants can now be managed directly in the app by tapping the ‘Add a participant’ option after selecting the ‘More’ icon.

Easy Bluetooth device selection

Switch between connected Bluetooth devices in 3CX Android App

Enhanced Bluetooth support now enables users to quickly select which audio device is used directly from the 3CX app. Simply select ‘Earpiece’ and choose the device. Users running Android 12 or newer will need to allow one-time permission to show the devices.

Other fixes and improvements

  • ‘Keep Active’ function is retained and starts automatically upon reboot or update
  • 3CX call history is also shown in the native call history app of the device
  • QR code scanner has been updated based on Google’s recommendations
