Live Chat in 3CX Web Client

So many new customization options to choose from and configured directly from the Web Client! Users with either ‘Manager’ rights on StartUP or ‘System Administration’ rights on Dedicated have access to:

  • Choice of three chat bubble icons.
  • Chatbox animations like ‘slide from the side’.
  • Bespoke greetings to give that personal touch to any conversation.
  • Display the agent's real name and avatar or set up a generic agent (e.g ‘Support’).

It is not possible to configure these from the Management Console. Read our Live Chat documentation for more information.

StartUP integrates WhatsApp

WhatsApp in 3CX Web Client

WhatsApp integration can now be added to your StartUP account adding another method for your customers to get in touch with you! Not only that, adding these options to your StartUP will:

  • Remove the need for someone's personal number to be published or have to pass a physical phone device between users on a shift rota.
  • Give customers the quickest response possible by sending the message to a group of users.
  • Keep a log and archive chats so that you can refer to them if needed.

Update 5 brings a completely overhauled and polished SMS messaging system. It is available on both StartUP and Dedicated instances. We now support SMS sending and receiving from these providers:

Note that if you are using SMS with 3CX you will need to reconfigure it in Update 5 as in Update 6 the old messaging proxy will be deprecated. The upside is that SMS configuration is much easier and much more reliable.

Android / iOS support for messaging

Keeping in touch with your clients while out and about is even easier. It’s now possible to answer, forward, and resolve WhatsApp / SMS messages directly from your 3CX iOS or Android App. That means that you can now respond to live chat, Facebook, WhatsApp, and SMS all from your mobile device!

How to get V18 Update 5 Beta

Dedicated Instances

Current V18 Update 4 users running on Linux can try out Update 5 Beta via Updates in the Management Console.

StartUP Users

New update available

It's simple, just log in to your 3CX Web Client. If you are currently logged in, you should see a banner at the top of your screen saying ‘A new update is available. Refresh now?’. Click “Yes”, the page will refresh and you can start familiarizing yourself with the new features today!
