3CX Android App V5.5 Beta (Build 16) introduces internal platform updates alongside a strong set of contact, calling and UI improvements. This release focuses on stability, compatibility and day-to-day usability enhancements. Read on for the full details.
Platform & Stability Improvements
This update includes behind-the-scenes enhancements such as updated internal libraries and platform optimizations.
These changes improve compatibility across a wide range of Android devices and contribute to a more stable, consistent calling experience.
Contact Handling Improvements
This beta places particular focus on contact management and matching behavior. Fixes and improvements include:
- Device contact avatars now display correctly
- LiveChat calls and chats properly match Android contacts
- Contact names no longer go missing when adding a contact during an SMS conversation
- CRM contacts now display initials instead of a dummy avatar
- Saving an SMS number as a contact no longer incorrectly uses the number as a first name
Call Handling & UI Enhancements
Several improvements have been made to call handling and interface behavior:
- Flickering when switching between calls has been resolved
- Editing before placing a call is now supported consistently
- Recents scrolling and search behavior corrected
- Arrow colors updated for consistency
- Searching names with diacritics - the umlaut ü, the acute ó and the grave à for example - now works correctly, even when entered without special characters
Additional Fixes
This release also resolves issues affecting the following:
- Conference participant selection
- Department contact visibility
- Keyboard behavior during contact search
- Dialog interactions during contact creation
